I really need to get a crack on with crafting for Christmas. I am considering seeing if I can make things to sell for Christmas. I have an embroidery sewing machine and thinking about felt Christmas decorations. Definitely going to have a go to see if I can make something of a good enough quality!

73kittycat73 · 02/02/2017 17:51

Just brought this as a Christmas present: www.qvcuk.com/Bibi-Bijoux-Leather-Mixed-Charm-Bracelet.product.308179.html?cm_sp=VIEWPOSITION----308179
Love the BiBi range! Wish I could afford it all...Smile
Good luck with the crafting Mummysh0rtlegs.
Hope you are feeling better today Sprouts?

I'm impressed with a midnight posting! Were you hovering waiting?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/02/2017 14:06

I sometimes lurk till midnight Xmas Blush if I'm not at work the next day and I'm looking at the new TSV on QVC.

I'm doing a fruitcake for DDads birthday this weekend, not a 'proper' Christmas Cake , but near as dammit. (not matured as long)
Fruit, nuts,Amarretto, marzipan and icing, and 80 candles Xmas Grin

They're just recovering from last years cake (I took them some iced/plain) and 2015 Christmas Pud well matured.

Having a bit of a lazy day today as it miserable ourside.
Roll on spring, i don't enjoy jan and feb.

Mrsmadevans · 04/02/2017 17:48

Hi everyone... been very busy here with my dm 85th birthday and work and caring for my dd who seems to have picked up this virus that is going about. Plus my df not being well and looking after my dm bff who is nearly 90 ....phew!
I am determined to enjoy this christmas coming I want to have time to go to carol service , my annual trip to the wonderful Tredegar house in Newport , National trust house , which is just about my most favourite place in the world it fills me with exhilaration each and every time I go there I am sure I must have been a very lowly kitchen maid there in a past life lol.
Anyway hope all ok , thank God it is Feb ! At least there is Valentines , shrove Tuesday and pancakes and then St Davids day for us Welsh lol, to look forward to , Iolly it has been beautiful here today (mon) sunny amd warmish , no rain although yest it was horrendous lol !

flapjackfairy · 04/02/2017 22:56

Oh i was born in newport and used to visit my grandparents there every summer as a child. We always went to Tredegar . In fact my grandmother had a stall in Tredegar park when my mother was a girl and she sold the most wonderful homemade cakes.
She was widowed when my mother was young and my mum used to play in the park in school hols while her mother worked. She was regularly chased by the park keeper along with the other kids as he was a bit of a stickler!
Anyway her mother ended up marrying him and he became my lovely stepgrandad and was actually v sweet underneath.
Ah happy memories Mrsm x

73kittycat73 · 05/02/2017 02:03

That sounds really sweet Flapjack. Xmas Smile
Hi Mrsmadevans, sounds like you have been very busy! I must say, I am looking forward to pancake day...(Only because I can 'break' my diet for the day. Xmas Grin )

I love pancake day! I'm looking forward to may this year as I'm traveling to visit my parents in the U.K. From the channel
Islands. Where I shall cram in some Christmas shopping of course from
Shops we don't have over here that have better offers than Amazon and won't sodding deliver!

OP posts:
Mummysh0rtlegs · 05/02/2017 09:04

Ooh I might start a 20p tin. It's tricky because these days I use cash for baby groups so 50p and up definitely get used!

HungryHorace · 05/02/2017 12:18

That's a good idea, Sprouts. I hadn't realised (or maybe remembered) that you were on the Channel Islands.

I think I might know why we are one day ahead of most online counts...we started at 365 on Christmas Day, but I think that it's actually 366 until Boxing Day. Should we amend now (we amended in the week before Christmas last year, I think!)?

We have a coin jar. It's mostly shrapnel as we steal silver for car parks etc!

I won't be at home for pancake day as I'll be in Glasgow. Maybe. It might be when I'm off on 21st. Must check! Easter is really late this year, so pancake day will be too. I always buy pancakes. Too much effort to make them! 😂

HungryHorace · 05/02/2017 12:20

28th Feb for pancake day. I'll make sure that DH has pancakes in!

Notanotherpawpatrol · 05/02/2017 12:45

Good morning, I'm currently sat with DD waiting to be discharged from hospital we've been here since Wednesday and I'm so ready to go home!!
It's her birthday on Tuesday and i have nothing prepared 🙈 I planned to do it this week, but she scuppered thoes plans when she got sick :(

lollyj84 · 05/02/2017 12:52

I forgot all about pancake day! I love it, pancakes with nutella.Mmmm, got a bit of a cravingGrin
Ethel came back all fixed, can change nicely into 3rd gear now and i even had a drive to my parents this morning. I went the long way round which was about 25mins. It went ok, possibly went through a red light🙊. Think i let myself get bullied at a round-a-about but hey ho feel better for pushing through my nerves.
Just having bacon sarnies and got my xmas eve tealights going.

lollyj84 · 05/02/2017 12:54

Sorry paw, i never saw your post. I hope your DD ok?

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/02/2017 12:58

Oh no PawPatrol Sad. Is your DD fully recovered?

Regarding her birthday is she young enough for it not to matter too much that you haven't prepared or old enough to understand if you took her out on her birthday itself to buy presents and something nice for tea? Or is she that in-between age that just expects you to be on top of it all?

If the latter can you sign up for the free trial of Amazon Prime and get stuff delivered tomorrow and then nip out tomorrow evening for wrapping paper, cards and a cake from Tesco or similar?

Poor you, having to pull a birthday celebration out of thin air after the week you've had FlowersBrewCake

Notanotherpawpatrol · 05/02/2017 12:59

She's on the mend, it's been a tough scary few days, but she's finally turned the corner. Now I have to figure out stiff like her birthday and selling our house and getting ready for the baby's arrival.

Notanotherpawpatrol · 05/02/2017 13:02

She'll be 5 and I could have got away with it, however every time they give her medication they ask her birth date and say 'oh wow! That's on Tuesday!' so now she knows it's Tuesday! I might take her shopping on her birthday, but I don't think she'd really fully understand.
Dh and i wlhabe been talking about prime, so I think we may just sign up and do it. Or I can go shopping tomorrow evening when she is home from work (she's not well enough to go school, but too well to be in hospital, so she'll be with me all day)

Mrsmadevans · 05/02/2017 17:36

Pancake day yummy ! bought a plastic lemon juice in the shape of...... yes you guessed it a lemon from B & m today for 39p,

Mrsmadevans · 05/02/2017 17:38

HungryHorace · 05/02/2017 18:33

I can make pancakes. I can't be arsed to make pancakes! I'm also in Glasgow on pancake day...slight logistical issue there! 😂

I'm glad your DD is recovering, PawPatrol. How scary for you. Flowers
