Ouch, Sprouts. Do you have to have physio now the metalwork is out?

I've seen some metalwork removal scars (I defend personal injury claims so see plenty of photos) and while they do look raw for a while, they do often fade to white in time. I hope yours follow suit.

lollyj84 · 30/01/2017 16:57

Sprouts i used to work in plastic surgery. The best thing for scars is something called dermatix- it's like a gel and you massage them into the scars obviously once all wounds are healed. It has silicone in which helps fading. Also if/when you go abroad make sure you put high factor sun lotion on the scars. I'm guessing you might have bruising, the best thing for that is arnica gel and if you like pineapples, the vits in them also help.
Feel better soon my lovelyCakeFlowers

SideOrderofSprouts · 30/01/2017 19:23

Thank you ladies ❤️ I don't know if I will need physio yet. I am having it for my finger which also has metal work in (bad year last year)

Have to admit feeling rather sorry for myself tonight and a bit Teary over the state of my poor leg. I will take advice though once stitches are out on Monday. Just makes me nauseous at the moment.

I am just waiting for all bills to go out on the first so I know what money's left then I may treat myself to some
New yarn!

It's normal to feel like that sprouts.
When stictches are out and you can shower( guessing they said keep dry) you will start to feel better. Physio will mean you can chase little sprouts more.Grin

HungryHorace · 30/01/2017 20:01

You can get that gel online for way cheaper than in shops, so if you do decide to use it, shop around.

A shower will definitely help. I find standing it a hot shower way more soothing than any bath!

I remember your finger. Here's hoping 2017 keeps you intact. 😁

SideOrderofSprouts · 30/01/2017 20:18

Frankenfinger is ok apart from the burst tendon so I've lost the use of the tip

Yep got to keep it dry till Monday. Can't wait for a soak in the bath.

Between the two wounds it's 14 stitches. Bleurgh

A Christmas thread in January? This is great!

I have bought quite a few bits in my local garden centre, including some Christmas song CDs for my nieces with their names on and personalised messages from Santa and some lovely reduced Yankee Candle sets for SIL, grown up niece and me. All for just a few pounds each, saving lots already!

Brightermornings · 30/01/2017 21:38

Thanks kittycat. When they come would you mind posting some pics?? And more importantly what your going to put in them Grin

73kittycat73 · 31/01/2017 00:20

Lol, Brightermornings, will do. I think I will be putting jewellery in them. Xmas Hmm

Afternoon all, I'm surrounded by sick kids today. I thought it was just dd2, but DS has just done a dieaorea poo all over his bedroom carpet and then (before telling me) tried to dash for the bathroom. It was like a poo disaster zone Shock
I think I might go and take a look at the bargain thread to cheat myself up! Grin

MrsDilligaf · 31/01/2017 14:00

Sprouts not intentionally Hmm

Pawpatrol oh no... not what you want.

Full of a cold today. I want to curl up on the sofa with a Horlicks, packet of Jaffa Cakes and a trashy book. Obviously this isn't going to happen as Martha is currently emptying the wash basket and complaining bitterly every time I put the washing back in the basket!

SideOrderofSprouts · 31/01/2017 14:04

Oh no pawpatrol

I dragged mrchips to baby group today with babychips. He has decided he can't wait for me to be better so he can go back to work 😂

How are you today Side/ Sprouts (which is it by the way?).
Hope you feel a bit more comfortable today!
My sister is staying with me and we went christmas bargain hunting today and picked up some good bargains in the Lakeland shop at a local garden center! The shop assistant insisted on us leaving them there until last thing rather than carry them around all day which was v helpful except we forgot to go back for them and doddled off home without any it !
Still good excuse to go back for another cream tea!

I'm surrounded by sick kids too. Well done to one sick kid. Gabriel is being sick every 50 hours. So I keep thinking we've got to the point where we can go back to groups and he is sick overnight. Doctor today to see if there is something going on.

Feel like I've barely done any sales shopping this year. I am sticking some stuff on camelcamelcamel. I'm considering sticking a playmobil advent calendar on and I've got elf on.

BiddyPop · 01/02/2017 09:35

I haven't been thinking Christmas stuff recently, real life is getting in the way. But I am still around and pop in to keep an eye on the chat when I can (I am hoping that the start of the year madness in Scouts is almost over and then I can take a step back again - there's soooo much paperwork in January as the annual census is done but most Units are halfway through their year while we've only just got our new Cubs so its all a bit chaotic, doing both elements together and matching up records all over the place!).

Notanotherpawpatrol · 01/02/2017 09:37

I have 2 down today :( but one still at school, so hopefully she will miss it.
What's camelcamelcamel?

TheWoollybacksWife · 01/02/2017 10:48

I think we are all in the same boat. DS has gone to school complaining of a sore tummy, DD1 managed to sprain her ankle on her first weekend in Rome and DD2 is complaining of feeling sick but I think that is more to do with her having her first university interview today Grin

In better news I'm spending the day with another MNer working on our Woolly Hugs with Brewand possibly Cake

BiddyPop · 01/02/2017 11:11

Oh Woolly, that sounds wonderful! Enjoy it, the knitting/hooking, chat, Brew and Cake. (And if it is a specific wooly hug project, AKA Candy, add a Gin once the needles are finished!). I have so many UFOs to get through, and I really want to do some squares for the wooly hugs, but crafting time has been non-existent for the past 3/4 years. I am actually contemplating moving my craft materials to the storage unit on a long-term temporary basis, until DD has gone to Uni.

Mummysh0rtlegs · 01/02/2017 14:42

Camelcamelcamel lets you track Amazon prices. It's brill. Set up alerts for things for when the price drops. It also tells you what the cheapest price for something has been.

purplecabbage · 01/02/2017 19:08

Enjoyed the belated Rudolph day last week, and noting that the 25th this month is Saturday which widens the scope of possibilities!

Struck by a nostalgia and almost tearful urge to watch an ep of James Martin's Home Christmas Comforts, which always revvs me into high gear! I watched that entire series on heavy rotation for the first two weeks of Dec and didn't tire of it!

Bought another mercury/distressed silver tea light holder, with Xmas in mind, I have quite a few now! Had thought to set them aside so as to be more 'special', but the evenings are still so dark and dreary and they tinkle away so nicely. Plus, what if I held back for Christmas specialness, then pull them out in ten months time and they do not spark joy!!!?

While rummaging for birthday wrap, came across the Xmas paper, ribbons etc all a jumble and shoved in; the glimpse of Father Christmas and Snowman really lifted my spirits!

SideOrderofSprouts · 01/02/2017 21:46

I love canelcamelcamel. I'm tracking so much on there!

biddy I'm a beaver leader. This time of year is mad!
