Hi all,can I join please? I love Christmas :)

Guitargirl · 15/01/2017 13:00

Woolly - yes, I have definitely learnt to buy when I see it! Especially this Christmas. I went back a few time to shops where I'd seen something nice, it had sold out and then I ended up buying it online and have to pay for postage. They had cool socks at the British Library where when you balled them up they looked like a globe!

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/01/2017 13:50

I learnt to drive when I was 30 and passed 2nd time. It was definitely harder than if I'd learned as a teen. DD2 turns 18 this year and wants her provisional - mostly for ID purposes Grin

Guitar those socks sound awesome. DNephew would love something like that - do they come in children's sizes?

DD1 has just left for her term abroad Sad Sad Sad I've promised to Skype her tomorrow or Tuesday and point the screen at the TV so we can watch Sherlock together on the iplayer.

Guitargirl · 15/01/2017 14:13

Here they are Woolly: socks but I think they're adult sizes only.

Awww at watching Sherlock via Skype. Am going to the cinema tonight to watch it on the big screen!

lollyj84 · 15/01/2017 14:41

How long is she gone for Woolly?

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/01/2017 15:00

She'll be back a week before Easter lolly. I'll fret until I know she's safely at her new apartment this evening and then I'll be missing her company. I know I should pull myself together - she is a proper grown up and I'd actually been married for 18 months by her age - but she is my PFB Blush She's in Italy and I'm probably a wee bit envious.

I may buy the socks anyway Guitar. DNephew is nearly 10 and a size six shoe is probably only a couple of years away. DS is already a size 4.

HandbagCrazy · 15/01/2017 15:21

Woolly surely a PFB in Italy is a holiday opportunity no?

Can you direct hopes of a thread baby at me please? Ttc and starting treatment later this year although may need to save for eleventy million years to afford the upkeep Shock

I picked up some Christmas dog treats in Tesco today if anyone else has dogs at home? Was looking at treats and saw a Christmas treat stocking and a cute tin with turkey flavour biscuits on sale, 75p each.

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/01/2017 15:31

Waaaay ahead of you Handbag - we are flying out to "bring her home" at the end of term.

You can have all of my cute baby vibes - I'll cross my fingers and toes for you.

lollyj84 · 15/01/2017 15:32

Awww. I'm sure she will miss you too, but what an amazing opportunity. You must be so proud.
I think handbag is right, a holiday to vist.
Grin

MrsDilligaf · 15/01/2017 15:42

@Toostressy Xmas Grin you're very welcome to join us. Nice to see you.

I must learn to read properly...for a moment there I thought you were predicting that Woolly's DD would get a BFP whilst in Italy!! Shock

@Handbag ~~~~ sending you the good baby vibes too. If you have this year's baby I'll have next year's. Deal? Seriously, I hope all goes well for you xxx

lollyj84 · 15/01/2017 15:58

Handbag- never read your post properly. You have my baby vibes too.
On a serious note- good luck and hope it all works out for you. XFlowers

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 15/01/2017 18:15

Thanks for the welcome! Not sure how much I will post but hoping it will make me a bit more organised for Christmas Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 15/01/2017 21:10

DD1 has arrived safely Smile so I've relaxed and I'm back to knitting mini Christmas puddings Xmas Grin

FireflyGirl · 15/01/2017 22:15

Panic over then, Wooly. How long is she out for overall?

There are reduced cards/wrapping paper in argos (just search 'wrapping paper' or 'cards'). I didn't get any because I still have 16 rolls in the loft Blush They reduced the large rolls to 10p in B&M 3 years ago so I stockpiled...

Will have to see what I can find to contribute to the bargain thread!

SideOrderofSprouts · 16/01/2017 08:45

342.

Supposedly today is the most depressing day of the year!

The weather is for sure

BiddyPop · 16/01/2017 09:32

I'm hiding after MrsD and Woolly seem to be after me!!

I managed to get a few things in the sales on Friday - matching Christmas mugs for DSis and her DH, matching candle holders for DB and his DW, matching teatowels for another DB and his wife, and a set of tealight holders and tealights for another DSis.

Otherwise, I spent some of the weekend actually getting some tidying/sorting done (I refilled travel bottles and packed washbags, among other sorting in my room, and threw out a few old bottles of miscellaneous half used lotions), had a gathering of the neighbours, and survived my first Cub meeting in charge of the new intake. But I failed to get U2 tickets this morning - so "I still haven't found what I'm looking for!" Xmas Grin!

BiddyPop · 16/01/2017 09:33

I will definitely send you those vibes Handbag!

TheWoollybacksWife · 16/01/2017 18:53

Ta-da! Half a dozen mini Christmas pudding Ferrero covers.

flapjackfairy · 16/01/2017 19:04

Wow v impressive Woolly !

MrsDilligaf · 16/01/2017 20:05

Well done Woolly! They are really cute.

I agree with today being depressing... I got a puncture in my new car bloody bastard buggering screw in the road damn you!!

Could I get hold of DH? Could I heck as like! So I did all the ringing of the AA all by my own self. Do I have a locking wheel nut? said the AA man, not a clue... said me. Bloody flash alloys!

Anyway he's just come in from work and said what have you done to the car?!? I did not appreciate his tone or the pissed off face he pulled so I have got the hump. He is trying to get back into my good books by putting the baby to bed.

Mrsmadevans · 16/01/2017 20:34

Woolly lovely puds my dear!
The Book People have a brilliant sale on Xmas books and 20% off hand picked favourites today with the code 20blue

Lovely puds Woolley Grin

Does anyone have plans for the "Rudolph Days" this year? I would quite like to use them to get organised. Plus I am working on editing down my Hamper List to keep them all the same, saves me a whole load of confusion come December!

73kittycat73 · 17/01/2017 13:47

Very nice wolly. I've just finished knitting a cardigan for my nieces dolly. I was very proud of it until I noticed I sewed the left arm on inside out! lol
