Asda have given me half a shop

Had my delivery booked for 9-11pm (all I could get). I was getting so nervous by the time it arrived at about 10.58. OH has whipped it in quickly and honestly about half the shopping is missing.
Carrots, parsnips and Camembert were all out of stock. But there must be bags of shopping somewhere else- none of my chilled stuff came, I'm missing a box of wine, wine gums, after eights, satsumas, gravy, kitchen roll, loads of stuff!
The helpline closed at 11pm so I'll have to tackle it tomorrow but now OH is going to have to go to the supermarket tomorrow and we have people coming round.
Just wanted to vent a bit Sad this is the first Christmas I've done on my own and it's turning into a disaster. Just glad I picked the meat up today from the butcher.

Waiting for them to get back to me. Does anybody know if they're likely to bring it to me, it will I have to go out?

My mum has been missing a couple of bags of shopping from asda in the past, it has always been delivered to someone else by accident. In my (or her) experience they have just refunded the items. If I were you I'd send your OH out to get it before the shops get too busy, I wouldn't rely on asda bringing it to you!

Hopefully they will give you some decent compensation for the inconvenience! This kind of thing seems to have happened to a lot of people this year.

TheGruffaloMother · 24/12/2016 09:56

I'd get out and buy the stuff you're missing pretty sharpish. I had the same from Asda 4 years ago so won't use them for delivery now and don't trust any online grocery shopping at Christmas!

ghostspirit · 24/12/2016 10:04

Asda are really crap. I would be surprised if you were to get what you need delivered from them. As someone said if you really need it then best go out and get it. And go on asda Web site and request a refund for the items your missing.

harderandharder2breathe · 24/12/2016 10:36

I wouldn't assume it'll get delivered, so get OH to get what you need when he goes. In my area there were no delivery slots at all today (not just full, they show differently), so not sure if that's everywhere and if not, not sure how they'd get missung stuff out. I'd like to think they scheduled time today to fix cock ups but highly doubt it.

If it does arrive, freeze what you can, obvious the sweets and stuff will keep. Or if you can't afford it having had to buy duplicates (I know I couldn't) then reject it and have the refund.

Right, I've begged parsnips off of my mum and carrots off of MIL. OH will get what else he can from the co-op but we're not braving the big shops (I had to go to Tesco yesterday and spent 45 mins getting out of the car park!) anything he can't get, we're going to have to go without. The wine is a bit of a blow, though. It's the only one my mum drinks.
Still waiting to hear from Asda Hmm

Don't wait to hear from asda. They likely won't be planning to call you back. Customer service is diabolical. Try 0113826798 it was the number that the ceos executive called me fromwhen I complained several years ago. I don't know if it still works. Chase them up.

Grindelwaldswand · 24/12/2016 12:12

Asda are utter crap !!! I ordered some cakes from Christmas as a treat and they delivered us 5 bags of nearly expired bagels as a substitute even though i don't accept substitution because of thing's like that !! And the stuff they substituted was in stock in abundance at the store my shopping comes from when I went in later in the day (its a super store) i was so angry im never shopping there again. And they have such low dates on the food you can't even plan more than 2 meals ahead because everything is so out of date by the time it's put on shelves

podge how annoying. Hope you get sorted.

I've just had to nip to tesco, it's a very big one on a busy road....drove straight in, parked right outside the door, straight through self checkout and straight out of car park!

You might be ok to go and get what you need, I think shops were busiest yesterday!
