What's your favorite Christmas breakfast & snacky things? I'm just checking to see if there's anything yummy I might be missing out on?

Also I don't eat fish or chicken

We do a massive fry up (bacon, eggs, square sausage, haggis, black pud, links, tattie scones, clootie dumpling, tomatoes, mushrooms) and French toast or waffles for those who don't like a fry up.

IfartInYourGeneralDirection · 22/12/2016 17:33

Traditional Christmas breakfast is a selection box

IMissGin · 22/12/2016 17:42

Chocolate, panettone French toast, coffee, bacon/sausage/tattie scone rolls

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 22/12/2016 17:49

Panettone and wicked-strong coffee, then Babycham and Matchmakers Grin

babyblabber · 22/12/2016 18:50

A fry and those croissants you make from a tin but with a small square of chocolate inside each one

chocolateworshipper · 22/12/2016 19:44

Breakfast = scrambled egg on toast (with smoked salmon for those that like it)
Snacks = chocolate!

SprogletsMum · 22/12/2016 19:46

I've got bacon and egg for me and dp and pain au chocolate for the dc.
Breakfast has to last a long time, usually eat at around 6am then Christmas dinner is around 2.30.

Pigeonpost · 22/12/2016 19:48

Croissants, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, asparagus, Buck's Fizz. Yum.

harderandharder2breathe · 22/12/2016 20:42

This year bacon butties with extra special bacon I wouldn't normally buy and homemade bread

Talcott2007 · 22/12/2016 20:55

This year we are having Chocolate chip brioche, toasted with salted butter and apple and cinnamon compot, sultanas soaked in white port and hazel nut granola to top natural yoghurt.

BasinHaircut · 22/12/2016 21:01

Breakfast - Bacon and egg with English muffins.

Snacks - none really. Breakfast will be late and dinner mid-afternoon so don't really need anything.

Pudding this year is passion carrot cake from a posh cake shop mmm

RJnomore1 · 22/12/2016 21:06

Pancakes, bacon, maple syrup and poached eggs.

Everyone eats sweets as snacks as we go so no real snacks until after lunch

Helpmeltb · 22/12/2016 21:15

Waitrose pastries for breakfast - they're frozen and just go in the oven so it's nice and easy to do when kids are looking at presents, etc.

Pannetone for a snack, along with various Xmas treats (chocolates, lebekuchen, fudge, etc.)

Some fizz from M&S - those £3 ones. Think it's orange and cranberry.

IamChipmunk · 22/12/2016 23:00

I have some Christmas tree shaped crumpets this year!
And bacon sandwiches!

SagelyNodding · 22/12/2016 23:08

Haven't even thought about it! Xmas Blush Pancakes for the DC maybe smoked salmon and avocado on toast for me. DH just coffee.

Interestingangelfish · 23/12/2016 08:23

This thread is making me hungry! We'll be having croissants with cheese and ham, and Buck's Fizz.

Percypig5 · 23/12/2016 08:47

There was a similar thread on mumsnet about 5 years ago where I read about toasted slices of a panatone with Greek yoghurt, fruit and honey and that has become our traditional Christmas brekkie.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 23/12/2016 08:54

DH & dc have sausage sarnies & I have croissants Smile for breakfast. Snacks are chocolates & my Gran gave us some little pretzels & snack type things that I'll put out for them too.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 23/12/2016 08:58

DH and I are having smoked salmon on toast. Kids have asked for chocolate shreddies.

Handbag101 · 23/12/2016 09:50
