I need to

Panic buy another present for my mum
Panic over what I'm going to wear on Christmas Day
Finish icing the cake (it's marzipanned already)
Clean the bathroom
Clean the kitchen
Make up the spare room bed
Finalise the Tesco order coming tomorrow
Get turkey and beef from Costco (dh job)
Make lasagna for Christmas Eve
Make pear and cranberry pies

It doesn't sound too awful but with a 5 and 2 year old constantly underfoot I'm getting nowhere fast!

A million other things that I've forgotten.....

Me too, I'm not changing bedding just because it's Christmas Xmas Confused but as I would normally do it in the next couple of days anyway I'm doing it today. Plus I don't want a pile of washing sitting there over Christmas.

SantasSackAndJingleBalls · 22/12/2016 16:26

I need to wrap rest of presents for family & then Christmas Eve I'll wrap the last of the kids,
Did food shopping today but need to get nice M&S biscuits (for me Grin),
Need to prep Dinner on Christmas Eve,
Pick up one more present for DH.

Think that's it Hmm

Madbengalmum · 22/12/2016 16:33

Wash bedding
Collect bread order
That's it, yay!

Fairenuff · 22/12/2016 16:38

Nothing Xmas Smile

It was all finished yesterday. Spent today watching films with dd. Bliss.

MycatsaPirate · 22/12/2016 16:39

Pick up order from the butchers on Saturday morning.

That's it.

Everything else is done. Washing basket is empty. Food is in. House is tidy(ish). Presents bought and wrapped.

PrOvOkeTheGrinches · 22/12/2016 17:11

Buy a pencil case.

I'd forgotten until I was smugging my way through this thread knowing I was finished and totally organised.

DC's don't finish until tomorrow so have had plenty of time to do stuff.

NoCapes · 22/12/2016 17:11

  • print off a photo for a present
  • buy voucher for niece
  • buy a cheesecake
  • wrap a few last bits
  • buy more sellotape so I can do said wrapping
  • tidy upstairs
  • Hoover and steam downstairs
  • wash bedding (I do actually do this especially for Xmas)
  • bath dog
  • assemble Xmas eve box
  • dye eyebrows & paint nails

Feeling quite organised tbh Xmas Smile

Clankboing · 22/12/2016 17:21

I'm doing the bedding next week now. It's slow down time for me. Everything is done except for the making of a nut roast on Christmas Eve for the vegetarians. So I don't have to on Christmas day. Oh and deliver a few presents.

SerialBodenReturner · 22/12/2016 17:22

Wash towels
Tidy and clean house - mostly because we're having 20 people round for drinks tomorrow night so a good reason to get it all clean before Christmas Eve - hopefully won't get too trashed again...
Change beds
Make a chocolate torte
Wrap DTDs' mermaid blankets if they ever arrive...

Not responsible for Christmas Day or Boxing Day food this year which reduces the list massively.

MrsPear · 22/12/2016 17:38

wrap 2 presents from sil - she had a baby Monday so I am surprised she managed to get something.
Make the flavour butter for turkey
Complete my essay
Travel to family - hired a house this year so we all have a bed!

Freshprincess · 22/12/2016 17:42

Take the pile of cardboard boxes by the front door to the tip (thanks, Amazon)
Clean up the house
I like to go to bed on Xmas eve with an empty washing basket so tons and tons of washing.

Change the beds
Wrap all the presents.

I'm not too panicked

SundayNightRoast · 22/12/2016 17:47

I'm feeling chuffed as we are there! A quiet Christmas with me, DH and 3 small DCs. Presents wrapped, Xmas shop done, mince pies made (though may need to do another batch, thanks to DS1) :)

We've got Xmas music playing on repeat and plenty of logs in for the wood burner.

We're going out after tea tonight to see the local Christmas lights, long beach walk tomorrow and probably Christmas Eve too and then hunkering down together.

It's exactly what we needed after a long and tiring few months. Big good wishes out to everyone who is still very busy getting it all ready.

Sallystyle · 22/12/2016 18:12

Wrap
Clean
Food shopping

PumpkinPie2016 · 22/12/2016 18:36

Do a towel wash
Finish tidying up but mostly it's done
Wrap last few presents
Collect meat ordered from butcher

purplecabbage · 22/12/2016 18:42

From scratch two batches mince pies (one gluten free),
Write and deliver cards to neighbours;
Buy, wrap, deliver gift to nearest neighbour.
Final veg shop, regular top up shop, buy extra tealights and candles, Make nut roast and stuffing
Rewrap pass the parcel,
Collect parcel from post office,
Buy new sweater for Christmas day.
Buy Christmas bouquets for house
Hand wash lurex wrap
Additional cleaning if time allows!

Actually feels do-able!!! Grin

Cagliostro · 22/12/2016 18:45

DH is collecting the last parcel (a book for DS) tomorrow, and I'll wrap that plus two other things

Amending our grocery order tonight as it's coming tomorrow but I just checked out with a regular shop and have remembered a few other things we need

I need to write the quiz Xmas Blush so that's my evening filled

wobblywonderwoman · 22/12/2016 18:51

Books to library is another to add here.

Currently mid clean - will wash windows in the morning.
Just bathing the DC at the moment and once they are in bed at 8pm I will clean the utility and mop floors

I have to wrap dh presents and all of dcs presents but I love this job!

Tomorrow I have to buy my cousins baby a gift, collect items in town I ordered on the phone today. Lost a present and item to return to next via post.

Clean bedrooms.

Then early Christmas morning I will go to lidl for the big shop. Buy flowers for the neighbours etc. But voucher for parents.

That should be it!!! I hope

purplecabbage · 22/12/2016 19:04

wobblywonderwoman Is your Lidl's open on Christmas Day or do you mean Christmas Eve? That is when I am planning the final shop also.

Hedgehog80 · 22/12/2016 19:08

My plans were:
Do all the washing today and tomorrow : change bedding , put huge Tesco food delivery away, tidy up and do Xmas crafts
Sat : make mince pies and go to garden centre
My plans changed
Today : bleach everything and don't catch noro
Tomorrow : same
Xmas eve : same

glitterandtinsel · 22/12/2016 19:17

Make chocolate Christmas cake as ds2 only likes chocolate cake. Decorate it.
Get Christmas Day vegetables, butter for turkey, croissants for Christmas Day breakfast and cream from supermarket.
Make elves Christmas Eve basket for dcs.
Get them to tidy their rooms so Father Christmas doesn't fall on his butt giving them presents.
Clean the toilets.
Prepare veg for Christmas Day on Christmas Eve.
Make and cook stuffings.
Hoover.
Find the Christmas puddings.
Chill wine.
Defrost turkey and pigs in blankets.
Wash disposable baking trays.
It's exhausting just thinking of all of this!

shouldwestayorshouldwego · 22/12/2016 19:26

Tidy up
Load stuff into car
Drive to parents and get food for 24hrs

Watch dh try to secure a Turkey which meets his specification without saying 'I said you should have ordered'. Fortunately I don't mind what I eat because I already have potatoes.
Watch dh's increasingly desperate ploys to get dc to wrap his presents for him.

shouldwestayorshouldwego · 22/12/2016 19:29

Should clarify he had three tasks - order meat for when at FIL, buy presents for his family, wrap presents for his family.

Violetcharlotte · 22/12/2016 19:41

Tomorrow I need to:
Go to town to panic-- buy the ridiculously expensive trainers DS2 really wants that I wasn't going to get as I've bought more than enough already--
Look around for more crap lovely things for the boys stockings
Buy Xmas presents for my Mum from the boys
Oranges for the cranberry sauce
Sherry for the trifle
Special 'santa' wrapping paper
Gift bags for Xmas eve pjs
Baileys (obvs)

chocolateworshipper · 22/12/2016 19:42

I collected the turkey today, have Tesco shopping coming tomorrow (which I've only updated about 150 times, so may need to update a few more times), made the kids help with cleaning the house today and presents are all wrapped. I think I may (dare I say it) be quite organised this year!

blueskyinmarch · 22/12/2016 19:47

Food/drink shopping tomorrow. Pick up turkey. Collect DD 1 from the station. All sorted!
