I can't be the only one. It's so cute. I can look back to 2008 (when DD1 was 7 and DD2 was 4) and see what they had for Christmas and what I bought other family members too.

I can see their favourites change over the years. And occasionally it's helped me avoid buying exactly the same thing for a family member that I got the year before.

Yes - have lots of family on both sides to buy for plus PAs for both DH and me, housekeeper, etc

I bought my first presents today 😳 . No spreadsheet here funnily enough!

Shurelyshomemistake · 21/12/2016 22:11

Chips. 4 years ago I was you. I have now seen the light and been saved. Life is better for the faithful, come on over :D

I have it set with a drop down box to say whether it's in the house or not. When I choose yes then it turns green. And I also keep track of my spending. And where it was bought from.

Interestingly, I seem to have spent about the same amount of money every year within about £50 or so.

Loving the fact that I'm not the only saddo one doing this.

I started one this year in Aug but the amount spent scared me so I deleted it Blush

donquixotedelamancha · 21/12/2016 23:26

Yep, guilty. I'm heartened not to be alone in my anal retentiveness.

Kerberos · 21/12/2016 23:45

We have a shared one on google drive. Anytime we buy something it's added on. With colour coding for ordered, arrived and wrapped.

:)

CointreauVersial · 21/12/2016 23:55

My spreadsheet goes back to...........1994. Blush Includes Birthdays and Christmas.

Predates DCs and DH.

But I'm prepared to give it all up tomorrow if there's an app!

SuperflyTNT · 22/12/2016 00:54

I have one, but usually just do a fresh one each year. This year it's become a general finances one though, merging income, savings, (as we've been able to save some money for the first time this year), and ongoing present, food and petrol spending. Definitely going to look for that app for next year though.

Kuriusoranj · 22/12/2016 01:27

I used an app for 3-4 years and actually went from that TO my lovely spreadsheet. I too do status columns instead of colours - then I can have filters the way I want. Next year I think I'll add some RRP information, that sounds like fun. Xmas Grin

CharleyDavidson · 22/12/2016 23:26

Don't think I can swap to an app. My spreadsheet is where it's at for me.

Yes excel and colour coded to make sure each DC gets the same amount of presents

Bellabelloo · 22/12/2016 23:33

Absolutely!!

Kuriusoranj · 22/12/2016 23:33

Thing is, with a spreadsheet you can do things like line up the presents to make sure it's equal. So "x has got that and y has this thing as their equivalent". Can't do that on an app, no sir.

CharleyDavidson · 23/12/2016 00:05

I've always had DD1 and DD2's gifts in a column side by side so I can match up similar gifts as I buy them. Totally blown out of the water this year due to DD1 wanting something expensive, but in budget (phone, less than £90 thanks to black Friday!) and DD2 not asking for anything at all apart from 'some surprises and nice things for my room.' Okay then.....

Favourite memory as triggered by reading the spreadsheet.... they year that DD2 declared that it was totally possible for Father Christmas to redecorate her bedroom with Moshi monsters tatt bedding/lamp/rug/etc while she was sleeping. A bit rich from the child who, for many years, would have her stocking laid out on the landing outside her room as she didn't want him in there.

Only bloody managed to pull it off too.
