Christmas Jumper - how to clean ?

Gave dh a Christmas jumper last year (complete with flashing lights ) which has been worn over the weekend but could now use a clean. But label says don't wash ! Ideas for how to clean / refresh please.

Sponge clean it...

Can you get the lights out? Would the material wash without the lights?

DS's had a little pocket for the lights so I took them out and washed it.

Failing that, sponge wash any dirt off, then if you want to refresh it too, you could simply leave it out on the line on a nice day perhaps.

I have washed sons jumper with flashy lights several times! Didnt even think to check label. Oops!
