I want to get this right and not have burnt roasties and bullet like sprouts so can anyone help me with timings - how long things will take to cook?
I always manage to mess up the roast parsnips...

So - how long for
Roast potatoes
Roast parsnips (-same temperature as roast spuds??)
Steamed sprouts
Steamed carrots

You would think I would know this by now, having cooked at Christmas many times, but I seem to be having a memory blank somehow.

Thanks!

Roast potatoes usually take about 40-45 mins for me at about 180, already parboiled and fluffed
Parsnips about 30 mins at same temp. Both go into sizzling hot fat. I find cutting off the thin ends of parsnips helps as they burn quickly. Less time if you pre steam them for a few minutes and I find also less likely to burn.

Stuffing and pigs in blankets go in the other oven at a lower temp so they don't burn.

Sprouts take about 5-10 minutes in my steamer and carrots take 20.

I write down the dinner time and work backwards which helps for timing too. Hth

Thank you! You might have saved my parsnips Smile
