What've you all got for stockings please?

I'd like to know the ages and sexes of your DC and what's going to be in their stockings please?

I need to get more...I foolishly let mine choose bloody enormous new stockings last year! They're massive! My DC are both girls aged 8 and 12

So far I've got them each a box of chocolates...ordinary sized. I've also got a paint by numbers set each, a tube of sweets each...one lollies and one jellybeans, each has two classic paperbacks...Tom Sawyer, Little Women, What Katy Did and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, I've got the smaller one a retro set of cowboys and American Indians with teepee and the bigger on a nice diary.

What else? I think the ruddy stockings will only be half full!

Breakfast cereal is a favourite in my house the mini variety pack. You could get some cans/bottles of soft drinks. We also have pants and socks in ours.

Stockings here always contain a Satsuma (even though I hate them) and a pound coin. Could you get some fluffy socks? Just thinking they're quite big but can be picked up relatively cheaply?
I am going to put my DS rubix cube in his this year - its the number one thing he has asked for and I figured it'll give me a bit of time to wake up whilst he plays with it.
Would they appreciate a little cuddly toy?

Socks! Good idea...my DC don't really go for cans of drink...but socks will fill a gap, especially if I get a three pack!

We have boys. The older boys stockings always have pants, dvd, book, selection box, one small toy/game (one has box of jokes and the other true or false cards) and a satsuma.

My 14 year old dd has tube of sweets, make up, headphones, USB stick, face mask, socks, body spray.

Although you f I'd thought more about it I'd have put more practical things in like pants and socks.

DD1 (7) has a bath bomb, new socks and gloves, some small fossils, a puzzle, fabric pens, a cheap mood locket from ebay, a soft toy, chocolate coins and a new toothbrush.

DD2 (4) has the same except she has bubbles instead of fossils and stampers instead of fabric pens.

We have a sack too - my bulk out items are large selection box, annual, board game and pyjamas!

Word of warning if your 8 year old still happily believes in Santa don't let her read What Katy Did. It has a chapter where characters discuss Santa not existing while laying out the children's presents on Christmas eve. It's how I learned Santa was definitely make believe, I was 11 and it was summer so I was happy to have my suspicions confirmed at a time of year that it didn't bother me. At 8 during my Christmas holidays I'd have been gutted.

Springer I don't think she COULD read it yet...I will probably read it to her in a year or so...it was just a lovely looking book. She likes books which she considers "grown up" and hoards them on her shelf. She will get round to it I suppose.

We used to get socks, pants, toiletries (so stuff that you'd have to buy in a few weeks anyway!), colouring/puzzle books, satsuma, chocolate coins, some stationary bits like pens/pencils/notepaper, box of tissues for the bedside. Selection boxes are nice and bulky.

I'm going to try to stick to small stockings for my DC for as long as possible I think - they're only 4 and 1 so I'm OK at the moment!

We always have bubble bath/shower gel and a new toothbrush in ours. And a christmas tree decoration. And a lot of the things already mentioned.
