The Goth Girl books by children's laureate Chris Riddell a well worth considering.

SatsukiKusakabe · 16/12/2016 18:21

David Baddiels books for children have been popular as gifts for the girls I know that age - Parent Agency, Person Controller and his new one is Ani-Malcolm.

Also, just because, Ballet Shoes.

What about some of the books by Millie Slavidou. My boys enjoyed the one based in Greece and a mystery based in Wales but they are aimed at tweenage girls I think.

BertPuttocks · 16/12/2016 19:29

DD has asked for the Dork Diaries set.

She also likes the Tom Gates books.

Lilaclily · 16/12/2016 21:08

Goth girl if she hasn't already read them and Dd recently read When Hitler stole pink rabbit as part of her year 6 curriculum and lived it.
The murder most unfortunate series is pretty good too as are Hamish books.

Glad people are recommending Goth Girl as just got it yesterday for my 10 year old niece. The cover and artwork attracted me, hoping she'll love it!
