3yo twins. They are getting the fire engine and the play house. They do have some patience and other toys coming too. But also have a (crazy) 16mo. And hosting. 😱😱😱😱😱

Yes yes yes. Nothing worse than playmobil assembly on Christmas day!

ChippyMinton · 15/12/2016 20:15

Yes. And remove all the small accessories before they get lost/swallowed/stuck up noses.

PhilODox · 15/12/2016 20:16

3yo? Definitely... otherwise they'll never let you get the stickers on straight. The fire station is awesome Grin

lapsedorienteerer · 15/12/2016 20:19

Yes!

TweeBee · 15/12/2016 20:20

Oh dear me yes! I had a vomiting bug when DD got the fire station which DH had been adamant that we should all assemble together. It was NOT part of the fun.
Mind you we put it away for a while last year as DD treats everything like Lego and takes it to pieces all the time and we thought loads of it would get lost. If yours are similar I would suggest not putting all the accessories out.

WeeMadArthur · 15/12/2016 20:20

Unfortunately yes, but it's better to spend the time now rather on Christmas Day! You don't have to completely make them up but there are always bits that can be put together to make larger sections so that they still fit in the box, but then you have less of a job on the day. Definitely stick on all the stickers before and hide any tiny accessories that will only get lost within five minutes.

WeAllHaveWings · 15/12/2016 20:39

Age 3 yes you need to build and be prepared for it to take hours.

BonjourMinou · 15/12/2016 20:58

I didn't know this! I have bought and wrapped my 20 month old a playmobil farm. I will have to unwrap and assemble Christmas Eve!

milkjetmum · 15/12/2016 21:00

Yes to pre-assembly, we got the hotel last year and my dh stopped me when I'd been working on it for 3hr Christmas day...

SpringerS · 15/12/2016 21:01

Is Playmobil a bit of a pita? I've always thought it looks fab but the thought of it all coming apart like Lego puts me off it. We're a big Imaginext house here and that stuff is so rubust it could probably survive falling out a second floor window intact.

shakemysilliesout · 15/12/2016 21:08

We had the park last yr, assembly is part of the fun, creating the world. Got the fire engine for a birthday, read Amazon reviews and set aside an hr the night before. You need at least an hr to yourself for the fire engine but it's good!!

JoyceDivision · 15/12/2016 21:10

The school took dh from 9pm to 3am... I took overat thattime to finish off.

Build in advance!

OhFuds · 15/12/2016 21:12

Last year I got the playpark for my 3yr old, this year he's got the water park and I'm dreading it already Xmas Grin

FreeButtonBee · 15/12/2016 21:13

Arghhhhhhhh! Shit. Okay, good to know. We've just got the fire engine, not the station. Good call on the small bits. Baby is pretty good but might be safer to save them for a bit down the line.

Yes. Definitely. Also, the box will give a suggestion of how long it will take. Something along the lines of 1 adult, 1 hr. THIS IS A LIE. My sons pirate galleon took 2 fully grown men 3 hours to put together.

Good Luck see you on the other side.

FreeButtonBee · 15/12/2016 21:15

Bonjou if it's the playmobil 123 stuff, the farm doesn't need any assembly. No stickers. It's really good actually and still gets quite a lot of play here.

I agree - yes assemble beforehand if you want to have Christmas dinner. I do love playmobil though....

lapsedorienteerer · 15/12/2016 21:16

The finished product is worth it. Playmobil is great Grin

Sunshine59 · 15/12/2016 21:17

Oh god the amount of time my DH has spent building playmobil, one thing he built he took about 4 hours on it, good luck

soupforbrains · 15/12/2016 21:20

Oh and springer playmobil is fabulous. Once you've done the initial assembly it doesn't really come apart. It's only the initial assembly that's the PITA. I love playmobil, my son got that pirate galleon I mentioned for his 4th birthday. He loved in then and still loves it at 9 and a half. I'm now buying playmobil for my nieces who adore it as does my sister.

Would recommend 5 Star

ijustwannadance · 15/12/2016 21:21

I find it a massive pain in the arse. They should just sell it built. At least lego can be made into other things and the bricks are useful.

PhilODox · 15/12/2016 21:50

Sorry- I misread- the fire engine is awesome too!
I love playbill, it's the bee's knees!

3yo twins, eh? Your Christmas is going to be crazy fantastic! Grin

MsHybridFanGirl · 15/12/2016 22:05

Pre build! My DD is 11 and still loves Playmobil - is getting the City Life hospital for Xmas and I'm going to pre build (if I can find a spare evening) as the luxury mansion took us 2 hours on her birthday

1stTimeMama · 15/12/2016 22:37

Oh my goodness, I've bought masses of playmobil for my 2 boys this year! Should I start now?! How do you wrap it once it's assembled?

tldr · 15/12/2016 22:40

Oh. I wrapped the fire engine.

Bums.
