I finished ours today - a bit early but we're having a party this weekend and it won't get eaten otherwise. Has anyone else done theirs yet?

I'm feeling quite smug about mine this year - normally the dc are involved so it is a covered in an unnecessary amount of tacky decorations.

This year I took part in an informal competition online (hence the poncy lights) so made an effort

Im your mama that is lovely but know what you mean some of these make my gawdy snowscene look naff.

None of us like it so ive never made a Christmas cake but remember how much I loved decorating it as a child!

Here's ours - it's about an inch thick icing so there better still be a taste of brandy!

I let ds (age 4) decorate mine this year. I slopped some royal icing onto a shop bought cake and let him loose with sprinkles and glitter. It looks like unicorn vomit (but tastes lovely, having some now with a cup of tea!)

Love them all - how lovely, esp the FC one and the trad of childhood.

My offering will be lovingly removed from its Waitrose box on xmas day and expertly placed on a plate I got out of the cupboard myself

Oh wow these are amazing! I have a picture of the one I made after it survived a hand luggage trip with Ryanair, running, a 'cosy' car and Polish train journey. It survived I think in thanks to the litre of whiskey in it so decoration isn't great... very impressed with all of them here!!!

DS (8) decorated this for his half birthday. We don't do Christmas cake. It's his first ever and included piping.

Very envious at the lovely cakes.

Mine is sitting on an Italian glass plate, I made a square cake and cut one half to decorate, half to leave plain.
It has apricot jam and some Delia recipe almond paste (not tried this recipe before , involved whisking the egg and sugar over a bain marie but you don't have the 'raw' egg so good idea)
Once "The Last Leg" is finished I'll whip up some royal icing and think about decorations.
