Do I really need to wrap the bastard stocking presents

Please tell me I don't....I have lost the will to live and am drowning under different wrapping papers (as obviously can't use the same wrapping paper as Santa for family presents).......arghhh

I never wrap stocking presents they are hard enough to squeeze in without worrying about ripping paper too.

Coloured tissue paper, the pound shop sell it in garish colours that kids love.

Scrunched up losely around objects, slap a bit of tape on the edge to hold in place - BOOM.

(Or, just don't wrap any at all, I doubt they'd care!)

I've wrapped one or two of the things but definitely not the edible bits it takes forever trying to shove it all in

I wrap some things and not others. Anything like a toy, book etc I will wrap, food, tin whistles, whoopee cushion type things, no.

It is more fun when they have stuff to unwrap and takes them longer. We don't start on tree presents until we're all dressed and have eaten so keeps them going.

I use different wrapping too, and also different Santa wrapping for each child, then I don't have to bother with labels or worry about them getting mixed up.

Crepe paper, twisted and loosely taped. Or any paper i collect during the year that is crepey/tissue paper, doesn't nlmatter the colour.

If i don't wrap, then it is just tipped on the bed and that's it! A bit like a piñata.

DS has a huge stocking (i made it, i'm such an idiot!) but it isn't stuffed. I just got hom a Paw Patrol activity magazine with cute water game as free gift, then he has some fun bits from Tiger, Minions pants etc.

But definitely wrapped.

We don't do different psper for different gifts. DS was with me when I bought paper last week, he is 5yo but won't think twice about FC using the same paper.

My parents never wrapped stocking stuff and it didn't bother us in the least.

I always wrap them and regretting it. Next year I'm not going to.

God yes, I always wrap them, I hate wrapping too, but wouldn't dream of just shoving them in there. Didn't know folks actually did that. 😳

I think if you can bear it a lttle longer, op, I would. I don't know how old your DC are, if they little or older, but for my older DC age 13 and 11, the sense of anticipation when unwrapping gifts is what is makes Christmas so special for them. So I would!

I do, but only so it keeps them occupied for few extra minutes on Christmas morning before they come and jump on my bed. I use extra shiny wrapping paper and loads of tape too.

GOddamn you all - I was coming on to say no but now have been convinced that I absolutely have to wrap them all! And I was nearly done - wwwaaaaahhhh!

Of course you have to wrap them! It's tedious, but the fun they have unwrapping all those mysterious bits and pieces is worth it.

I don't wrap them, because my stocking presents were never wrapped when I was a child. I didn't realise some people wrapped them, until I joined MN. I was also gobsmacked that some people don't use a toilet brush!

Depends whether you want the stocking to keep them busy for longer? Keeps the anticipation going.

I wrap everything apart from chocolate coins.

For me as a child the unwrapping of stuff was the best part and now as a parent the best part is seeing her face as she unwraps something and sees what it is. Even the small stuff.

No, no, no! Never wrap stocking stuff! Take the packaging off, pop it in the stocking, done. DCs can peer into the top and fish things out. Lovely!

Err, isn't the stocking the wrapping????
And how are you supposed to empty it at 4am with your little brother, carefully laying stuff in order so you can repack to open again with your parents if it's all got paper on???

I do, but not at all beautifully, in cheap paper.
All adults now, but I still do stockings. V pleased with myself today, since have actually wrapped most of the stocking stuff instead of the usual panic- session past midnight on Christmas Eve.

i wrap everything apart from the satsuma and choc coins, i only have tge stocking fillers and dh presents to wrap now but will be doing the om friday night when hes away

Another vote for wrapping here - obviously in different paper than anything else for Santa. I so loved reaching out in the morning and feeling those lovely wrapped shapes in my stocking. Don't wrap the Satsuma/choc coins - just a few presents. Otherwise everything is just laid out in front of you and it's not the same.
