Is a Christmas food delivery on the 21st manageable...?

I'm only now getting to book my delivery :( I know, I know.

Latest slot I can find is the 21st. Can I risk it, or will all the food be out of date by xmas?!

Should be fine, assuming it's mainly root veg (which you'll keep in the fridge anyway) and meat. Cream, cheese etc will also be absolutely fine. Green veg might wilt a little but should be fine. Mine's coming on 22nd!

Or just go to the shop and buy it nearer the time?

The Tesco website / app tells you how long the food will last, which is quite helpful.

Yes, true - you could get the bulk delivered and then get the real perishables on Xmas Eve (if you dare brave the hordes that day).

With that date I'd buy all non perishable food. CE I get turkey from butchers meaning a quick supermarket trip for veg only which I can scan through self serve.

In the time I've been dithering the slots have gone from 2.99 to 8.99??!!!?

Should be fine. Get it delivered on 21st and run out for any bits that won't make it on 23 or 24th. I bet it will all be fine. My local butcher is still taking orders for meat until Thursday so you could always order the turkey or whatever and collect that separately.

I forgot about my priority booking, and could only get 20th when booked last week
