DD is 8, and has just had her birthday. She love reading, art, her Baby Born.

What can we get her that's a bit different from the heaps of books and drawing stuff she got for her birthday - no room for anymore books!

What do girls like as they move away from Babies? She won't get any more presents until next December now!

She might like a more grown up doll, like the Gotz dolls, or Design a Friend, if she likes dolls. Otherwise would she enjoy Lego, or a board game? There are some great board games that involve drawing/creativity, eg Telestrations.

Some things on DDs )7 and 8 year olds) lists:
Playmobil zoo and various families
Nun noms lipgloss truck
Soggy doggy game
Pie face showdown
Lego elves
Art and craft stuff
Playmobil horse/pony farm

Sewing machine went down very well as a present. She has been making bibs and simple clothes for her baby born. Also a teach yourself knitting kit and extra wool. All her dolls now have hats and scarves!

Thanks guys. DD was very lucky and got a sewing machine for her birthday.

Will look up LEGO Elves, although we do have heaps of Lego and playmobil.

I have an 8 yr old daughter too and she is getting:
Books
Stationery
She loves maths and science so science kits and maths puzzles
Lip balm making kit
Candle making kit
Zoo keeper experience

Does she have any hobbies you could buy for - my daughter does karate and is having a punchbag for training!

I'm finding 8yr shopping hard too - seems to be a between age!

BopIt is great, that was a birthday present here and definitely a big hit.

DD is good on a bike, but doesn't really need any more kit for that. She has lots of interests - craft, drawing etc, but also has lots of stuff for those interests!

My DD's just turned 8 and her letter to Santa only had 2 requests. Enid Blyton books and Lego. Have you had a look at the Book People site. We've bought a couple of box sets from there (including one of all the St Clare's books so she'll get her Enid Blyton).
