Board game we can all play?

Looking for a board game that the whole family can play on Christmas Eve. That's a tall order because youngest two are 5 and 2.5

Doesn't matter too much of the 2.5 yo can't play properly but would be good if it was a game with not too many tiny pieces and moving parts so it's not frustrating when she messes about IYSWIM. Added requirement of being able to fit in a very small amount of luggage!

My two are that age and pizza pizza is a favourite here. Go go dragons also loved but it was special edition for the area so not sure if widely available...

Have a look at the Orchard games. My DS from the age of 3 loved playing the Rocket game still likes to play it now aged 5. The box is compact for a game and all parts fit easily back in it.

Card games are a good alternative to board games when space is tight and you don't want little pieces. When mine were younger, Sleeping Queens was a favourite. Or Dobble could work. Or even UNO.

I should have said, pizza pizza is by Orchard games :)

Frustration could be fun!

Game of life is a good one for all of us. Youngest has been playing this with some help since he was 3.

Sleeping Queens is excellent. Adults can enjoy, my 6yr old can play with some thought and strategy and my 3yr old could 'play' with assistance and, just before 4, could play herself. Now 4.5, she can play properly and won the last game :D

I was coming on to say Pizza Pizza too! Always a huge hit here x

Yy to orchard games

Rocket game, crazy chefs. Not "there was an old woman" as it is hard to catch up on that if you get behind.

EvenTheWind · 14/12/2016 08:35

How many people? Crazy chefs is for up u to 5.

Post the most is lovely and a bit longer. Four players. Lots of bits but they are all quite large. Too big for small luggage though.

Children's charades?

Orchard games are great for little ones and as quite often they require no skill (we have spotty Dino game you just need to be able to roll the dice) so everyone can play.
Dobble is good or UNO when ds was small we had the animal edition (animals instead of numbers).
We still play all these games regularly even though ds is now 6 Grin

Another good one is Dream Cakes by Ravensburger, very simple concept and pretty fun for everyone.
