Gift for a mature 14 year old boy who 'has it all'...?

DS and I are struggling to come up with a thoughtful gift for his lovely younger brother who lives abroad. He's 14 and has fairly well-off parents so he already has the usual stuff - iPhone, nice clothes etc.

He seems grown up beyond his years - is really polite and helpful and not so much into really macho or crude stuff. They live in the alps so he's into skiing and mountain biking - he probably has everything he needs for those hobbies though! They used to live in England and I think he misses it here so we usually bring some English sweets etc.

Any ideas?!

budget?

and does it need to be portable on a plane?

Flingmoo · 11/12/2016 14:17

No particular budget but I suppose anywhere in the range of £10 - £100 as he's one of the only relatives DH needs to buy for.

Portable on a plane would be ideal but any ideas would be appreciated really as our minds are kind of blank.

Just remembered he's also sort of into techie/IT stuff.

Does he like funny stuff though? Bean boozle spin the wheel game, funny face selfie mats? Wallet ninja? Aftershave? Voucher for high wires/climbing place near where he lives? Trendy bike helmet? Guiness book of record/sports fact books/sporting autobiography?the teens I know want money! Hamper of sweets and smellies etc

This might be a very cool idea- a go pro type camera especially if he is into outdoor sports www.amazon.co.uk/VicTsing-Waterproof-Camcorder-Mounting-Accessories/dp/B01E5A20WQ/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1481467040&sr=8-9&keywords=gopro+camera

If he's in to techie stuff how about a Raspberry Pi kit?

Flingmoo · 11/12/2016 14:58

givemushypeasachance good suggestion - unfortunately we already gave him one of those last Christmas Xmas Grin

3nationsfamily Awesome we hadn't thought of that and I don't think he's got one! I bet he'd make some amazing videos considering the stunning mountain scenery where he lives. I think we'll probably go for that!

defineme and curr78 Will check those things out could be good extras!
