Gift for someone who likes whiskey

Is there anything I could get other than the whiskey itself? He has expensive taste so I can't afford the actual drink! But hoping there might be something related that would make a nice gift. Help!

Lots of whisky drinkers don't like ice etc in their drink (kills some of the flavour). So don't get whisky stones unless you know he would like them.

Small taster bottles are a good idea - that way he can try a few different ones he wouldn't otherwise.

What kind of whisky does he like, and what is your budget? Might be able to suggest some taster bottles based on his tastes.

Or, if you live close enough to a distillery, you could pay for a distillery tour (you could throw in the offer to be the designated driver too). Distillery tours are normally good value and interesting. Decent ones start from around £10 per person (sometimes less) and include tasting at the end.

You could also buy a cheap, smallish bottle of whisky and use it make homemade whisky truffles (they are amazing) - melt cream, little bit of butter, dark chocolate (I use the cheap 30p/100g stuff and its fine as long as its dark not milk) together then stir in the whisky. Chill, shape, chill again.... easy!

Whoops, just seen how old this thread is Grin
Hope he got something he liked, probably a bit late for suggestions now!
