Budget only about £50.

He wants a GoPro and an Xbox One. He's aware that these are beyond budget.

He's quirky, he's geeky. Probably needs to be an online purchase because we're moving house next week and not started packing yet so no time for long shopping trips!

I've ordered a small digital video camera thing (fake Gopro) from Wish but not sure it'll be here in time.

His birthday is on the 29th as well!

All ideas gratefully received.

Raspberry Pi starter kit? I think about £54 so maybe slightly over budget.

iklboo · 09/12/2016 14:40

Actually it's £42 now

Raspberry Pi

One of the things I've got DS is one of those Philips alarm clocks that are actually a daylight light that start illuminating about 30 minutes before the alarm goes off.

What about a Fitbit type watch?

Lweji · 09/12/2016 14:56

If he really wants the XBox, could you pool resources with grandparents and aunts/uncles to buy him one?

Lweji · 09/12/2016 14:58

Particularly if you make it a joint Christmas-birthday present.
Not great, usually, to put them together, but I know my DS would rather have something big like the game console than a few smaller things he didn't particularly want.

Old school lava lamp? My tween dd really wants one of these.

Lots of cool T-shirts/phone cases/loungy cushions from Redbubble.com.

She also likes these Tetris lights .

Does he have access to a computer/laptop? We are getting DS a subscription to a series of online coding courses aimed at young people. It's about £8 a month DD, then they can learn C++, HTML, Java etc. If you'd like me to let you know the name, let me know and I'll get back to you!

eyebrowsonfleek · 09/12/2016 17:57

Does he game on a pc? My ds loves his gaming mouse and light up keyboard.

eyebrowsonfleek · 09/12/2016 18:03

Funko pops, a subscription box like Infinity Crate? My sons like gadgets and IWantOneOfThose is a good place for inspiration.

traviata · 09/12/2016 21:48
