Looking for some inspiration. We're having traditional Christmas food on Christmas day itself, (and again on Boxing day when we are visiting DH's family), but am unsure what to do for food on Christmas Eve. We're just eating at home so just me, DH and toddler DD1 to feed, so don't want to do loads. What are you having?

Crispy duck pancakes & spring rolls. Mince pies for after.

Another vote for party nibbles. We cook enough that there are some left overs for Christmas Day supper (along with a ham joint and bubble and squeak).

Honey roasted joint of ham with a fried egg and homemade chunky chips. Washed down with a Baileys.

Pizza (will get pizza express ones form Sainsbury's)
Dough balls
Salad

And then will have a slice of Christmas cake and a baileys

ummmmm loving sound of both duck pancakes and ham and egg!

I mentioned the idea of a take-away to DH but he feels (probably rightly) that the wait will be ages. So now I'm thinking party platters and doing a buffet type thing. With Baileys. Grin
