Christmas is the time of year that I do those cleaning jobs that I should do every couple of months
The forgotten, not really seen so it doesn't really matter kind of jobs

I've made a list and crossed a few small bits off today, anyone want to join in?

My list is -
Oven & hob
Microwave
Washing machine ✔️
Bins
Under couch
Under living room cupboard
Living room window (always covered in dog nose prints)
Patio doors (baby nose prints)
Dog bed and toys ✔️
Kitchen lights ✔️
Under my bed & wardrobe
Tidy garden
Clean porch
Put unblocker down drains

What have I forgotten?

Oh HighData how horrible, your poor dd! I hope she's better soon & that no one else gets it!

Can I borrow your mum NoCapes? I can't stand ironing.

I've got food prep tomorrow & Dh has to take the dc to see his dad (our 7 seater is broken & the car is only a 5 seater). I'll hoover round lateish because Christmas day is the 1 day a year when I don't bother with it so it'll still be half decent Christmas morning & by the afternoon I won't care Xmas Grin. We then have the job of bringing all the presents down & I'll have to keep the 18 month old away from them until he goes to bed...

Haha Bernards she's ace, she actually likes ironing (!?!) and is seriously fast at it, I gave her a bin bag full of kids clothes (so a lot in there) and it took her 2 hours, she even put it all away for me! I luffs her Xmas Grin

I've done last bits of wrapping, got another wash on, washed all the pots, organised who we're visiting and when and now I'm waiting for the baby to wake up so I can do floors

Then to keep it all tidy with 3 kids around - somehow can't see that happening can you Xmas Hmm

I'm tweaking now, in between scoffing chocolate and watching Christmassy tv. I just put all our champagne and liqueur glasses in the dishwasher so they are sparkly for Sunday (they don't get used often so a bit dusty) it's not work just prettifying really. Feeling pretty relaxed, got a load of washing drying, all is good in the Grumpy household.

Floors are done
Last of the bedding in
I'm done, whatever hasn't been done now ain't getting done Xmas Grin

I'm going to have a Wine and dye my eyebrows/wash my hair/paint my nails later and then Christmas can begin!

How's everyone else doing?

Hi everyone, I'm doing ok I think. House not pristine but never will be. Still too much clutter! Some decluttering of toys and clothes done along the way as DC kept getting loads of bits out so figured I may as well try to declutter as they did!

Still need to wrap so that will sort out the mess of presents and wrapping paper.

Thank you for the confirmation that it is not just me that spends agea cleaning before big events. DH and I spent total 2 (TWO!!!) full days cleaning spread out over a week and I've still got laundry drying and my office to tidy before BIL gets here and has to sleep in it in the 25th. DH and I had a discussion about how my need to clean out the kitchen cupboards on 22nd Dec was a very silly idea. And that they should be tidy all the time - ha! Fat chance. If youve got family over for 5 days you want them to be able to go into the cupboarda and get their own teas and biscuits not leap up and do it for them because you're embarressed about the state of them. Anyway like a previous poster - not perfect but mostly acceptable. Which is good as first guests already here. Merry Christmas.
