Present for ds(12)'s "girlfriend"

ds(12) has been "going out" with a girl for 3 months. They have never actually gone out, held hands or kissed! He has heard she is getting him a Christmas present so he wants to get her something too but doesn't know what.

The only idea he has come up with is she talks about MAC makeup, but looking at the price he can forget that!

Any suitable ideas for around £15-£20?

What about something from Lush?

Ah that's cute!

Revolution make up is good value, DS1 bought some for a friends 13th birthday last week and got 2 palettes ( one was a freebie), highlighter, blusher and a make up bag from Primark, all for £13

Zoella toiletries? I have no clue if that's the right age group but sure friends 11 year old nice has asked for those.

Or he could do what all boys do and buy her a cuddly toy Grin

Eos lip balm, they do a set of 3 on amazing for about £12. Dd is 11 and apparently they are the thing to have in your blazer pocket!

Wings I just had a quick look at Macs website. For £20 you can have a 20 minute "makeover" and you can buy gift vouchers. Also there is no p&p on their website and if you enter the code samples you get 5 free samples. Not sure if you can get samples with gift voucher but if not you could buy cheapest thing (lipstick/ mascara) and bulk out with samples. I guess it depends on if you know her parents and if they would be happy with makeup. Otherwise Jack Wills, Hype, Superdry any good? Superdry have eBay outlet, hype keep doing offers and Jack Wills in Boots 3 for 2. Also Bobbi Brown wrote book for teenagers about makeup. Don't know if that works or MAC equivalent.

A copy of The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf.

I think the lip balm idea is great. I want one.

Lush stuff

How about something for them to do together like cinema trip or a lunch out, Or ice skating that kind of thing?

Parkourbench · 06/12/2016 22:41

The question is wings what is she getting him? Smile

Our younger son chose a jar of fancy sweets for his 'girlfriend'. I think it cost three quid - he's Y7. £15/20?!

Elland · 06/12/2016 22:50

I would go with the MAC voucher!

Glittermakeseverythingbetter · 06/12/2016 22:53

I'm not sure make up would be a good idea if you don't know her too well, just in case her parents don't approve! My 12 year old plasters it on despite my protests Grin
I'd say you can't go wrong with Lush bath bombs or gift set.

OutDamnedWind · 06/12/2016 22:56

I'd vote for Lush - nice at any age and they come nicely wrapped.

I really would t go overboard, he may well find it embarrassing to get her a proper gift if she gives him a bar of chocolate!
