I'd like to keep away from tangible gifts and give experiences or event tickets this year.
I've got a few ideas (weekend away for my lovely mum who hasn't had a holiday this year) but I'd love some more.

I have nephews in their late teens to buy for, no hobbies except th play station and I'm not buying anything for that Grin
a goddaughter in her early twenties who lives in the US, very sporty
a god daughter of 13, keen swimmer
mother in law, keen gardener, creative
sister in law, likes her music,
DS, 15, quite lazy, likes topical news, comedy

I bought theatre tickets last year so would rather steer away from those this year.

I don't really expect mumsnetters to do all my Christmas gift hard work for me but if you do have any ideas, that would be fabulous.

TIA

Not sure where you're based but I bought velodrome and bmx gift experiences at the Olympic park which my brothers loved. Think they were around £25 each. All equipment is provided and you're shown what to do. I'd imagine other venues around the country would do similar.

Or how about a stand up comedian show?

Nephews - cinema vouchers. Cineworld usually do a box for about £20 at Christmas with two tickets popcorn etc.

God daughter - might need local help but a voucher for a sports or personal training session

Young god daughter - costa cards. They LOVE costa cards.

Mother in law - dobbies vouchers and sign her up to their club thing

Sis in law - ticket master voucher.

DS - got to be comedy tickets!!

I bought dp the indoor skydiving for the whole family one Father's Day - that was fun!

Go Ape is also fun and suits a wide range of ages if there's a forest which offers it nearby.

Late teen nephews- tickets to a gig at your nearest venue, Robotwars is doing a live tour at the moment, depending on your budget you can buy them a teen driving experience at a race track

Mother in law gardener- look for local stately homes or castles ( like Sissinghurst) which do private garden tours sometimes with an event. We got tickets for m in law last year to a dinner and talk about roses at Sissinghurst

DS- tickets to one of the youngish comedians on the circuit like Russell Howard?

mckenzie · 06/12/2016 21:51

My credit card has now taken a massive beating but I can tick off mother in law, sister in law, DS, my sister and even DD's birthday treat for next year!
And I've treated us to the sky diving - not on the shopping list but hey ho Grin
