I want to do something special for breakfast on Christmas Day. Time is not an issue as will have plenty of time so maybe home baking of some sort.

Hot sweet muffins with butter maybe? Tarts? Anything else?

Eggs benedict

WritingHome · 06/12/2016 15:58

We have either a full cooked breakfast
or pancakes, smoked bacon and maple syrup
or bacon muffins

Lots of fresh coffee and orange juice. Most years we have bucks fizz but not this year as we will have to drive after breakfast

We also have croissants, pain au chocolate, pannettone, stollen, mince pies etc on hand

DD also has her christmas chocolate to nibble

We do not eat dinner until 7pm ish

WritingHome · 06/12/2016 15:59

I just couldn't imagine eating a full christmas dinner at 12.30pm!

alwaystimeforcoffee · 06/12/2016 16:34

How about scrambled eggs with smoked salmon? It's fairly quick but feels like a real treat!

taptonaria27 · 06/12/2016 16:39

We have toast and pate, I think the kids would explode if we tried to do more "cooking" than that

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 06/12/2016 16:41

Bucks Fizz and chocolates off the tree. Start as you mean to go on. Xmas Smile

Lupinlady5 · 06/12/2016 16:41

Crunchie from a selection box Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 06/12/2016 16:43

I like your style, lupin Xmas Wink

goose1964 · 06/12/2016 17:29

We have smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and bucks fizz and DD has scrambled eggs and prosecco

Arrowfanatic · 06/12/2016 18:19

Tbh, usually the kids have chocolate and cereal and I'll have cereal. We have lunch around 1pm as we have little ones so don't want a big breakfast.

BeastofCraggyIsland · 06/12/2016 18:26

Quality Street usually Grin Basically whatever you want; I usually have two a bacon sandwiches or scrambled eggs and toast. There are always croissants, pain au chocolat, fruit, yoghurt etc. kicking around too if anyone fancies any of that.

yellowsun · 06/12/2016 18:26

Eggs royale- English muffin, smoked salmon, poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Delicious!

Pannetone, coffee. orange juice, fruit salad, maybe a bucks fizz depending on time!

Ev1lEdna · 06/12/2016 19:23

We almost always have smoked salmon, cream cheese and bagels and chocolate chip brioche. We'll still have it because my kids really look forward to it and check we are having it every year. However, inspired by this thread I#m going to have a bash at the cinnamon rolls too.

Ceaser1981 · 06/12/2016 19:26

We make waffles (belgian kind no birdseye lol) but i might do some of the frozen iceland pastry packs this year, croissants, maple pecan etc. groceries.iceland.co.uk/borg-bakery-4-maple-and-pecan-danish-120g/p/60754

iklboo · 06/12/2016 19:34

DS has blinis, smoked salmon, caviar (well, that lumpfish stuff) and sour cream.

DH & I - smoked salmon benedict or eggs benedict

Or we all have bacon & chilli cheese bagels.

PuellaEstCornelia · 06/12/2016 21:03

Eggs Benedict, usually. Favourite meal in the world.
BUT... been on a low carb diet for months, so may go for a well fired roll filled with Walkers chicken crisps...

PreemptiveSalvageEngineer · 06/12/2016 21:25

No "traditions" for Crimbo that we don't already do (most weekends alternate between some kind of fry-up or pancakes) but we'd be keen on a nice new alternative.

I expect that it'll change year-on-year as DS grows and tastes change... I like the idea of cinnamon buns!

Btw anybody ever do savoury French toast? I used to do it loads: DS has just tried and liked it, even DP!

Leeds2 · 06/12/2016 21:31

We usually have smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast. Or maybe just scrambled eggs since DD has gone veggie!

Bingybongybashy · 06/12/2016 21:38

Tapronarua - I thought it wS only me who eats pate on toast for breakfast!!!! Sometimes I have Brie on toast too!!! Grin

OpalTree · 06/12/2016 21:41

I like smoked salmon and scrambled egg with croissants. We'll probably end up eating a chocolate breakfast though.
