I need a 'wow' gift for ds9

So he's asked for 3 Pokemon plush toys, he's getting 20! But other than a couple of Xbox and ds games that's all he has. I was going to get him a phone, he would have been over the moon, but I've reconsidered and decided he's too young. He has an iPad etc. Other than gaming he doesn't really have other interests. I'd love to give him something he'd go crazy over but I just can't think. Help please!

Delivery and customer service from Wicked Uncle is excellent.

BeaLola · 05/12/2016 21:45

What is insomnia ?

What about a trip somewhere or skateboard, basketball hoop or table hockey - the first two my now 9 year old loves to pieces and the third I'm hoping to buy him for Xmas.

delilahbucket · 05/12/2016 22:47

My ds is 9 in Feb. We're taking him to a musical as he's never been. He's also getting heelys (finally giving in!)

Enidblyton1 · 05/12/2016 23:03

Great suggestion from Wankers. Pokemon treasure hunt would be fun and much more memorable than just another toy.

AndNowItsSeven · 05/12/2016 23:05

Why did you get 20?

HerRoyalFattyness · 05/12/2016 23:13

20?! Wow.
My 8 year old has asked for knex, a knex roller coaster and a toy gun he saw in the shop.

Then he will get pokemon cards, a folder to store his pokemon cards (and all the old originals his dad gave him, so they don't get ruined by the toddlers)
A clock (for his bedroom)
A whoopee cushion
Clothes.

He will be over the moon with that lot.

Pokemon Go Plus

Izzy82 · 06/12/2016 00:13

What about a telescope?

TheBriscoesLady · 06/12/2016 09:19

If OP is anything like me, she got him more than he asked before because she realised you can get more. My 7 year old DS loves Pokemon but only knows of the plushes he's seen advertised in toy catalogues and has asked for those. I've got him others as well as I found them very cheaply on Aliexpress and I know he's going to absolutely love them. He uses his other stuffed toys to do battles etc, and now he'll have the real Snorlax, Jiggly puff etc.

Sorry OP no help on your main question but it seemed a bit like you were under attack there! (And on the Christmas thread too!!)

WankersHacksandThieves · 06/12/2016 09:28

Not under attack from me. Just trying to pass on the benefit of experience, but I probably wouldn't have listened either :)

Carneddai · 06/12/2016 11:25

The pokemon treasure hunt sounds fab! I'm going to go off and think of a little treasure hunt I can do for my 2 now :)

Megainstant · 06/12/2016 11:31

I'm amazed that you can't think of anything. I could buy my 10 year old dd stuff until the cows come home. Much harder when they are teens unless you give cash!!

And it's sad that he has everything already tbh.

Tickets to something maybe? The Harry Potter world place?

WankersHacksandThieves · 06/12/2016 12:28

Despite all the expensive stuff they've been given over the years, my teenagers best memories of Christmas are when we had nerf wars all over the house. Mum and dad against them, it always ends up with them having upstairs and us downstairs and the stairs being the battleground. And when we went for a walk and I got the boys lined up for a photo and DH knocked the frost off the giant hogweed they were standing under making it like a mini snowstorm:)

Action camera, like a GoPro type thing
Skateboard
Remote control car/helicopter/drone
Science set/Hot Wires
Lego
Dartboard
Archery set

Thank you all so much for your brilliant suggestions. I'm totally doing the treasure hunt thank you so much. The reason he's getting 20 is he wrote down a list of 20, and deliberated for days over which 3 to pick as he didn't want to be greedy. He told me he secretly hopes santa will be impressed with him and buy him more. I just want him to know santa is very impressed with him.
He doesn't have everything, but when he loves something he does tend to forget everything else in the world. So in a month he might adore all those suggestions, just not at the moment. But thanks for everyone's input.

Too sweet- I love that he hopes Santa is impressed with him Xmas Smile I am sure he will be wowed!

WankersHacksandThieves · 06/12/2016 19:37

Aww that's great that he had them all on his list. It will be a magical christmas, such a perfect age.

WhispersOfWickedness · 06/12/2016 19:55

Ooo, so glad you're doing the treasure hunt, my parents did one for me one Christmas when I received a bike, it is one of the few Christmases I remember Xmas Smile

Tiggles · 06/12/2016 20:06

No idea if it is still half price but I got my DS who is 10 the Wilko Blox battleship. It was £35 and the box is massive!

RJnomore1 · 06/12/2016 20:17

Aw bless I think the Pokemon hunt is a great idea and would give him a real wow. He sounds sweet.

Reality16 · 06/12/2016 20:20

Nothing wrong with 20 - I would have likely done the same

Has he got a gaming chair?

CartwheelGirl · 06/12/2016 23:32

Here are some suggestions for PokemonGo fans.
