Anyone else expecting a visit from St Nicolas tonight?

The DC are busy polishing their boots at the moment in anticipation of his arrival .

I still have to run out to the shops later to actually buy stuff to put in the boots! Chocolate coins, a shiny red apple, marzipan and pistachio nuts are de rigeur in the Dampf household.
My DC won't get toys, because we will wait for Christmas Eve stockings for that.

Yes, though I only just remembered, and the only chocolate/sweets we have is a box of Lindor balls and some curly-wurlies

Went out today to get chocolates and biscuits to put into the boots/shoes. I also get a Christmas decoration every year. DH thinks it's a bit silly but he lets me get on with it. He loves any opportunity to have more sweets.
I'm usually very excited and take sweets into school to surprise my class with in the morning. First year I'm not doing this... (I'm on mat leave, waiting for the squirmy thing to leave my tummy)

sweets, notebooks and a tree decoration in ours! I completely forgot until I saw the thread so our elves have left them out for us!
