We had a North Pole breakfast and went to see Santa. Lovely day it was.

Made a wreath and put it on the front door. Put lights up around the house and flowers with evergreen foliage in the hallway. Did a spring clean so it's all glowing and beeswaxy. Put up the cards that have arrived so far.

It was DS2's hospital Christmas party! They were all totally spoilt rotten!

MyPatronusIsABadger · 04/12/2016 20:28

Walked to church where we had 2nd advent service then we went to a Christmas fair through the middle of town. We picked up some cards and did a bit of shopping and had a lovely lunch out. Home again for walking the dog, roast and Christmas films.

Great thread.

We went to school xmas fair, then went to a lovely barn that sells decorations it only opens at this time of year, and its a lovely drive to it in the countryside. Having said that, I don't feel Xmassy at all. Hmm

Maybe next week when we get the tree.....

justwanttoweeinpeace · 04/12/2016 20:42

Saw the village Xmas lights switched on, stayed for the carol concert at the local pub and drank a bit too much mulled wine.

First time we've been since we moved here, it was like a Richard Curtis movie Grin

ChippyMinton · 04/12/2016 20:42

Went to our scout group's Christmas Carol service, performed a carol with some others, did a reading and scoffed mince pies and mulled wine afterwards.

jmszel · 04/12/2016 20:44

We went to a local Christmas craft afternoon. We've been every year for last 6 years and look forward to it. We then watched miracle on 34th street

acornsandnuts · 04/12/2016 20:46

Walked around a Christmas market freezing my arse off even though I had enough clothes on for a North Pole expedition. I wasn't born to live this far north. Bring on spring. Bah humbug.

newmumwithquestions · 04/12/2016 20:55

Went on a Santa special steam train. It was ace.

Star2015 · 04/12/2016 22:26

We went to the tree farm and bought our tree then came home and decorated it and the house. DH was working tonight so I've watched The Holiday and opened our Christmas chocolates Xmas Blush (matchmakers and toberlerone).

The house feels very festive now!

HandbagCrazy · 04/12/2016 23:53

I watched The Holiday too Xmas Smile - I watched as I wrote my cards

VinoTime · 05/12/2016 02:23

We've had an awesome Christmas themed weekend.

Saturday we spent at DD's school Christmas fair playing games, buying snowman soup, eating mince pies and drinking hot mulled wine (me, not DD!). Then we went round to my parents' house for dinner and watched Miracle on 34th Street with them. Today DD and I spent all morning and afternoon making Christmas decorations together. We had Sunday dinner with my folks again followed by a game of Christmas Monopoly - mighty good fun! Xmas Grin

Looking forward to next weekend - hopefully do some baking on Saturday and then we've booked a Santa visit and a panto for Sunday. Love this time of year!

ElizaDontlittle · 05/12/2016 02:28

2nd in Advent - the church is now decorated and looks great!
And I made a decent dent in my Christmas cards.

MummyIsAFreeElf · 05/12/2016 03:51

This weekend We watched miracle on 34th street, the Santa Claus and the Santa Claus 2, the Dudley Moore Santa Claus movie and the grinch. We made salt dough ornaments. Painted xmas characters to make bunting and put up some more xmas decorations. Read our first nativity story of the season and talked about advent and the birth of Jesus. (I'm not a believer in Christianity thanks to my pagan mother but don't want to deny my children the opportunity to have faith)
Going to an xmas market with dds while ds is in school later on lol

I LOVE CHIRSTMAS!!

BiddyPop · 05/12/2016 10:45

Had the annual Christmas row about "how much stuff do we HAVE" when getting the decorations out of the storage unit.

Made up with a kiss though.

Bottled limoncello.

Wayfarersonbaby · 05/12/2016 14:50
