I would really really like a telescope. For looking at the moon. I love the moon. It blows my mind. I'd Prob like other moons and planets and stuff if I could see them. Dh thinks this is ridiculous.

I also want a karaoke machine. I think he fears for his eardrums. God knows why. I have the voice of an angel. Obvs

I would also like a new motorbike helmet that looks like a glitter ball. I think it's perfectly reasonable to get a new helmet in boring colour then have it customised. Again he thinks this is ridiculous. I say- I will be safe and also visible (whilst having a disco ball head. And what's not to like about that??)

What would you really like but won't get?

I'm another one in the wanting books gang. Everyone who asks, I say books.
What does no-one ever buy me? Books. "Because you have so many already."
That's because I like them!

I wasn't with DP last Christmas, so the juries out on whether he listens. He did buy me books for my birthday... here's hoping.

throwingpebbles · 30/11/2016 20:17

Slippers (cold feet)
A biggish cuddly toy (am always cuddling my kids ones when they are at their dads)
Shampoo, conditioner, socks, boring stuff but money is tight and I hate spending money on myself!

Purplehonesty · 30/11/2016 20:21

I want a Alison Moore Designs storybook ring. It's so pretty. Went to her workshop in Orkney and it's all so beautiful!
Dh says you have a wedding ring, -' engagement ring and an eternity ring and you don't wear those.
Not. The. Point.

Zaphodsotherhead · 30/11/2016 20:57

I'd like a piece of jewellery. A nice bracelet or something.

My OH was looking at necklaces the other day (jet. I love jet) and I had high hopes. But he was looking for himself, not me.

I'll probably get something that lights up. And flashes. Again.

ParadiseCity · 30/11/2016 21:14

I'd like a scooter. But I know I would look like a plonker. I am convinced I would use it everyday and it would solve all my problems.

FinnegansCake · 30/11/2016 21:16

I'd like a yarn winder, and one of those big plastic cases with loads of compartments for keeping screws in.
Some books would be much appreciated.
Or a beautiful cushion.
If I'm lucky I'll get chocolate. Don't get me wrong, I love chocolate, but it would be nice to get something that lasts a bit longer!

Gazelda · 30/11/2016 21:18

I want one of those head piece microphone thingys that fitness class instructors use.
I'd use it every morning to shout instructions and motivational messages to speed everyone up.
I've been asking for this for years, but he seems to think I'm joking.

CouldHaveNotCouldOf · 30/11/2016 21:26

paradise I bought myself one in January and I loved it and used it every day whizzing along safe in the knowledge I would never fall off as I'm not a child. I fell off. And smashed my face on the pavement. But it was fun while it lasted!
I want a Teasmaid, DH thinks I'm joking, I'm not. I'd love to wake up at the weekends and have a cup of tea before I get out of bed.

MavolioBent · 30/11/2016 21:34

I have fallen in love with a cross stitch kit of a glam lady Blush I love cross stitch, it really relaxes me. Dp thinks its really sad and refuses to ever buy me anything like that. But that is all I really want. We have very little money and I have carefully stretched it to get everyone else something they would love so why not get me what I want?

Although those penguin classic mugs are really nice...

chachaboom · 30/11/2016 21:44

This thread is making me sad, most of these gifts are fairly normal, go and buy them for yourselves if you really want them, give them to OHs to wrap and enjoy (if you can afford obvs). Telescopes are in Lidl this week Wink. I wanted a dartboard last year and I got one.

Autumnchill · 30/11/2016 21:47

Ive fallen in love with this Hermes watch but can't afford or justify it!

RebelRogue · 30/11/2016 21:53

Everyone that asks for bday or xmas(very close together) , i always say amazon voucher. I love my kindle app.and my books. No one ever frikking buys one..because it's a voucher!!! It's what i want!!

I also asked for LED trainers this year, which everyone thinks it's ridiculous but...OH is actually going to get them.

LifeLong13 · 30/11/2016 21:55

OP Lidl have telescopes next week on offer! £70!

Xina · 30/11/2016 22:02

Nice things from lush, apparently these are overpriced bath shyt. So fuck, I want them. I now write him a list of everything I want and where to buy them from. No arguing with that.

GeekyWombat · 30/11/2016 22:05

I have seen a floaty infinity loop scarf with the complete text of Pride and Prejudice on it in teeny tiny writing.

The only scarves I have ever worn in my life are big woolly ones to keep me warm. I'm not a floaty scarf / brooches / accessories with my outfit sort of a person. But I love the idea of it so much. There's even a choice of what font you want it printed in.

It's on Etsy and comes from America. The only person who would chance buying something from abroad is DH and he thinks it's lame.

But my goodness it's wonderful.

oldlaundbooth · 30/11/2016 22:09

A Toblerone, box of After 8's and a clothing voucher.

We're getting a deep freezer instead 🙄

NoAdventureNoTime · 30/11/2016 22:12

DH has bought me a real miniature building site type set, it comes with real mini bricks, wooden windows frames, doors, tiles, concrete etc it even comes with a tiny trowel.

Honestly i am beyond thrilled and cant wait to build something Grin

FuckityFucko · 30/11/2016 22:12

OP. I haven't got time to rtft but fuck. That. Shit.

They sound great presents. Buy them for yourself. Wrap them up and open them on Christmas Day.

Dear OP, Merry Christmas you marvellous bastard! Love OP xxxx

Enjoy. Don't be a martyr. Don't put up with shit presents.

Tenpastlate · 30/11/2016 22:13

A microscope, with prepared slides and blank slides and all the kit for mounting your own specimens Grin
And a pom pom maker.
And gin, proper poncey gin.

Tenpastlate · 30/11/2016 22:15

NoAdventure that sounds amazing, can you link to it please?!

sortthetacheoutbernard · 30/11/2016 22:18

I'd like Danny Mac. Dh won't countenance it. Miserable git.

marriednotdead · 30/11/2016 22:41

Another one who got fed up of being ignored and bought my own. My hearts desire was a light up umbrella, but my family thought I was being childish and bought me sensible stuff.

Every time it's dark and rainy, I'm walking along smiling with my twinkly light show while kids tug their parents sleeves and whisper Grin

SpecialStains · 30/11/2016 22:52

Marriednotdead I think we could be friends. A few years ago for Christmas DH gave me a basket for the front of my bike that he had lovingly woven battery powered fairy lights into. The year after he gave me an awesome new pink bike with lights on the inside of the wheels. I love it when kids notice it and tell their parents!

Lilicat1013 · 30/11/2016 23:13

OP you could argue that having a glitter ball motorbike helmet would be like a community service as it would make people happy. My youngest loves motorbikes and sparkly things so he would be overjoyed to see you wearing it. I would be pretty impressed myself to see someone in a glitter ball helmet.

Solasum · 30/11/2016 23:24

I would like some lovely soft pyjamas and refills of all my makeup, and a picture drawn by DS that he didn't do with me. I have been told I am being difficult and I need to link to specific things on Amazon Sad
