Ideas for 83yr old FIL

He will be staying with us for Christmas and is always difficult to buy for. Lives in Spain, likes Jack Reacher books (but I always get him those) and reading generally, no particular hobbies. Help!

Where was he born/did he grow up? My aged Ps loved some books we got them of "bygone days" of where they grew up - lots of old black and white photos. Also liked The Times newspaper from their date of birth - we got ours here newspaper
