This Christmas will be the last time OH and I go our separate ways (back to our childhood homes) for Christmas. Next year will be our first Christmas as a married couple and we intend for it to also be the first one we spend together.
In order to save arguments about who's house we go to etc (there will be tears), we are thinking of escaping going away, probably to Germany.
I'm intrigued about whether it's actually a good idea in practice. Is everything closed down for two days? Will we be stuck in a hotel room with nothing to do? Are there certain complexes that have a Christmas package? Anybody got any tips, suggestions, or warnings?
ps- I know it's over a year away but I'd rather ask now than horrify you all with an Xmas question in the summer when we book!
