PersisFord · 02/12/2016 22:27

always I've just read a book called elephant moon by John Sweeney - about a group of elephants who help evacuate an orphanage during the Japanese invasion of Burma. I highly recommend it!

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 02/12/2016 22:29

Thanks for the Saltrock code. You get a further 25% off after the 50% is taken off with TEE50. I got us each a t shirt for a total of £8.50 plus delivery. I normally hate delivery charges but still comes to about £3 a top.

On an earlier thread someone mentioned a site for nice gifts for adult Harry Potter fans. Can anyone remember what it was? All of a sudden I need it!

A few questions for you lovely people...

The DD's have asked Santa for Bookmarks. Any suggestions where to look? possibly personalised too.

Where can I get Christmas Beer from? I bought some last year and the beer had Xmassy names but cant for the life of me think where? Anyone seen any about?

Lastly, do Smiggle do free delivery codes at all? I want a few bits but dont fancy paying the £4.50 delivery when their stuff is already abit pricey. There's not a local one so trying to save a journey.

Catanddogmake6 · 02/12/2016 23:09

Margarita that wooden box you linked to is lovely. It would not be too difficult to decorate it with Acrylic paints and possibly letter stickers kept on with a top coat. It would also be personal to her. There are loads of helpful sites about decoupage/ decorating MDF. I also say that as the least artistic person going. However there are lots of people on eBay and Etsy who do that sort of thing. Try searching for memory boxes.

confuugled1 · 02/12/2016 23:17

pigley you can get Christmas beer at most supermarkets - particularly in the bottled beer bit. I've found Aldi is often the cheapest for the ones you can get quite widely - they're usually about £1.25 for ones that cost £1.70-£2 in the big supermarkets.

ja9r · 03/12/2016 00:00

How likely is it that there will be another 20% off ladies wear at M&S before Christmas?

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 03/12/2016 00:58

dearmr I've seen mashems on wilko, argos, the entertainer, amazon to order online :) sometimes the 'girl' ones are called fashems! My dd's are crazy about them too...

verytiredmummy1 · 03/12/2016 06:04

The plot thickens...DD asked for a dinosaur. We assumed a cuddly one until she saw a cuddly one yesterday and was terrified of it. Turns out it's not a cuddly one but 'one for ice cream' ?! She's obviously seen an advert. Great!

Anyone got any idea what's she's talking about? All I can get out of her is that it's a dinosaur for ice cream!

GodReastieMerryGentlemen · 03/12/2016 06:40

Been awol a couple of days as loads of work/Christmas stuff going on but catching up now. I am being rubbish about updating the list though Blush I hope you don't mind.

Dd has asked for Elsa and Anna dress up shoes from Father Christmas and she is fixated that he will bring them. I've got her Cinderella light up dressing up shoes as they were half price as I thought they oooked and Elsa-ish colour (although very clearly on the packaging Cinderella) and thought I could get away with it but since she's specifically asked the big man himself for Elsa and Anna shoes I think I need to get some. Can anyone recommend any for a 6yo? The ones on Amazon seem to have reviews saying they are very small and might not fit her. If it's got Elsa and Anna on so much the better to save me buying two pairs Thanks.

Windy I agree with the recommendation for bridgedale socks. I've got several pairs and they are great. They are specialist and you can get them for different weathers etc. I've spotted them occasionally in tkmaxx but otherwise they are quite pricey.
