Starting to menu plan now I have final numbers for Christmas Day and realised I'm feeling a bit uninspired by my usual trimmings.

Have googled some new recipes, so far have found Jamie Oliver's Parmesan Brussels which sound nice but I always prefer tried and tested recipes from real people so would love to hear what you do

Full disclosure for the last few years I've stuck a fork in pre prepared veg, nothing wrong with that at all but now my dc is sleeping through I quite fancy having a bit more of a challenge!

Looking forward to this gravy recipe cakeninja!

So I tried the Parmesan sprouts tonight. They were good, really tasty but think I would have been just as happy with them roasted without the Parmesan. Couldn't taste the chilli, lemon or Parmesan really. Followed the recipe exactly. Sorry Jamie Oliver, your sprouts may not make my Christmas table Grin

Jesus Christ, the amounts of food some of you are making! Wow.
Sounds very tasty though.

Thanks to PP for the gratin recipe, sounds lovely!

Mine includes goose fat roasties
homemade stuffing various ways - some like it with sausage/without sausage/ in the bird/made into balls
Sprouts with pancetta
Roasted carrots
Honey roast parsnips
Pigs in blankets
Devils on horseback
Gravy made with the giblets and veg water

We do:

Meat (usually a turkey crown plus a red meat)
Goose fat roast potatoes
Roast parsnips
Maple and butter glazed carrots
Sprouts with pancetta and chestnuts
Braised red cabbage (HAS to be Delia's recipe)
Cauliflower cheese
2x varieties of sausagemeat stuffing
Pigs in blankets
Devil on horseback

I've got a great new recipe for Boulanger potatoes but I think I'm going to hold off serving those on Christmas Day and save for either Boxing Day or our NYE dinner.

This year's plan is -
*roast turkey
*roast potatoes
Carrot and swede mash
Caulli cheese
Carrots
Sprouts
Honey roast parsnips
Pigs in blankets
Stuffing parcels
Home made sage and sausage meat Stuffing.

Yorkshires
Gravy using turkey juices, I like to add sage, rosemary, bit of bisto and onion too.
