Feeding Christmas cake

My lovely neighbour has made me a Christmas cake and I need to 'feed' it this weekend. Realised that I have no brandy - is there anything else I can feed it with?

I've done mine with leftover cointreau from the summer. Nice orangey taste to it xx

Basically, any strong spirit. But I don't think that gin or vodka would work.

I'm trying to keep to a budget this year, so I'm feeding it with the booze we have left in which is an inch or two in each bottle. So it's going to be a mix of Cointreau, cherry liqueur and amaretto! My friend does 100% amaretto each year and it is delicious - very marzipan-y though.

Any dark spirit. I did mine with Morgan's spiced rum last year it was lush! I've not made one this year and now feeling the urge!

I asked for an alcohol free suggestion last week, and was offered a recipie which was strong black tea, sugar and orange juice. Since I can't get my hands on booze without risking jail time, that's what I'm going for.
