I would think it will go down in price, we bought one each for our youngest 2 last year for £50.

OhFuds · 25/11/2016 13:48

They are £79.99 on Amazon today.

I never noticed the difference in size, just aswell I bought my DC's the normal ones down to £29.99 on Wednesday or I would've ended up buying the kids one today not realising I was buying the smaller screen!

I'm just looking at them myself. I am going with the normal addition (rather than the kids) as it's down to £30. Even if I order the tough case it only takes it to £50. You can usually buy extended warranty if needed. If might be worth considering.

I am looking too. Do you think they might drop the price on Cyber Monday?

We ended up with a kids fire for one of my children the other year and they kids unlimited, case and the 2 year no quibble guarantee is really good. But I am not sure the package is worth £65...

Upsetmummy27 · 25/11/2016 18:18

What do they get with kids unlimited?

BurnTheBlackSuit · 25/11/2016 18:47

Various apps, books, programmes (i.e. HeMan, Morph) that are good for kids

Upsetmummy27 · 25/11/2016 19:00

Thank you. Is it suitable for a 9 year old or is it more for little children?

BurnTheBlackSuit · 25/11/2016 19:13

My 6 year old loves them, but they are too childish for my childish 9 year old, if that makes sense. It was a bit childish for him when he was 8 too. I'd say up to the age of about 7 really. And the kids unlimited subscription is for a year.

I think normal kindles still have kids settings where you can limit their time etc. So I'd go for a £30 Kindle for a child older than about 7, but get a sturdy case!

Upsetmummy27 · 25/11/2016 19:21

Brilliant thank you Burn. I will do that then. I hope she loves it.

BurnTheBlackSuit · 25/11/2016 19:26

Just found this if it helps: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/browse.html?node=7385956031

So £30 for Kindle, £20 case + unlimited for £24 (if you have Prime) or £48 = £74 to put the package together yourself if you're a Prime member (and £98 if you're not). Grrrr.
