Age 16 or so for the nieces and nephews. But I now have about 20 great-nephews and nieces (the same sort of ages as my children) and we all got together a few years back and agreed to stop buying stuff for the kids as it was all a bit much.

Hastalapasta · 25/11/2016 11:39

Depends, do you like her? Our nieces and nephews and godchildren all get gifts from us, the eldest is 19 and apple vouchers are popular. Not sure when we will stop to be honest. We are quite close to them all though. Xmas Smile

Don't think I will ever stop for mine until they have children of their own! We are a very close family, my eldest dd is 14 and eldest dn is 16 - I would be gutted if gifts stopped for them anytime soon!

Geretrude · 25/11/2016 11:45

My eldest is 26 and I still buy her presents :)

MrsDustyBusty · 25/11/2016 11:57

Depends on how many there are! I've only two nephews and a niece so I think I'm not likely to stop at any time. In contrast, I had 16 cousins so a tin of chocolates per family was the standard when I was a kid.

XiCi · 25/11/2016 12:05

I don't think I'll ever stop. They're members of my immediate family and we very close so would always buy for them

ItsaTenfromDen · 25/11/2016 12:11

My neices and nephew and in their 30s, I still buy them al gift, usually between £20-30

Floralnomad · 25/11/2016 12:11

We don't , I have one step niece and she now has children so we get her and her DH a token gift (£10) and buy for their DC . My DC are 17 & adult and they still get bought for by all the aunts and uncle but they equally buy for the aunts and uncles . I think if you have adult nieces and nephews and they don't buy for you it's fair enough to stop .

mouldycheesefan · 25/11/2016 12:14

18 and 21 I give them cash

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 25/11/2016 12:16

Eldest nephew is 26. We aren't going to stop.

FeelingSmurfy · 25/11/2016 12:19

In our family it's once they have kids themselves, so the money for their present transfers to their children

Bluebelltulip · 25/11/2016 12:29

Me and DP still get presents from auntie's and uncles at 27 but we also buy for them

heckythump01 · 25/11/2016 15:06

We dont have much contact! see her maybe once a year and get a random card from her...............................! just not sure as my aunts are split some still by a token gift for me others don't. I dont think any less of the ones who dont............

My DD turned 18 this year and when my sister asked what she should buy I told her not to bother as she's a adult now and never ever thinks about buying presents for others. My sister said she couldn't not buy her anything tho.

winterisnigh · 25/11/2016 15:55

Op its kind of you to buy anything at all, we are a small family and my dc are the only nieces, the aunts and uncles get them nothing Sad

LadyBaelish · 25/11/2016 15:56

We stop at 18. Gift cards or vouchers from about 14.

KondosSecretJunkRoom · 25/11/2016 15:58

Forever, like the rest of the adults in my family.

TheMortificadosDragon · 25/11/2016 16:09

Actual gifts pre-teen, then money for as long as they're in full time education.

AgeingArtemis · 25/11/2016 16:26

My dad's sibling stopped when I was 18 (but were very generous on 18th birthday)- I only see them once or twice a year for a couple of hours. He has another sibling who I've only seen a handful of times, and never gave us presents (fair enough)

My mum's sibling we visit twice a year and stay at her house for a few days, and we are closer because she has children closer in age to me and my siblings, I still get a gift from her for christmas and I'm 20. Birthday can be a bit hit and miss depending if she remembers Grin
