Gift ideas for lovely, hardworking childminder

Any ideas? I was thinking a lovely box of M&S shortbread & some nice slippers but DH thinks no (no reason given & no alternatives put forward, not helpful )

She's fantastic, DD loves her & her flexibility & support makes our busy lives run smoothly…just wanted to get her a little something to say thank you. I haven't got a massive budget but could afford to spend a bit. . .any ideas put em here kind mumsnetters!

Cinema voucher was my CM gift.

I have a wonderful cm. This year I am thinking of making up a hamper for her. Bottle of baileys, treats, nice mugs etc.

The past two years I have got clarins hand cream and Yankee candle.

I wouldn't give slippers myself - seems slightly unusual - you'd have to know her size and preferred style, and be sure that she didn't already have a pair she really liked, etc.

shorrbread sounds lovely though - or wine, chocolate, something yummy?

Im going to get mine a voucher for a beauty treatment - Id need to be pampered at the weekend if I was running around after other people's kids all week!

I'm getting my wonderful childminder a nice bottle of wine and chocs, and a little present for each of her kids.

Often have really dry hands due to constant hand washing. One of the best gifty creams for this (given it ain't very festive to be given some Aveeno) is Crabtree and Evelyn - gardeners hand therapy is a good one.

Great ideas on here. I got ours a nice bottle of champagne last year but want to do something different. Spa treatment sounds great as she's very into her personal grooming. (how does she always look so put together with 7 kids running round the house?!?)

I'm a childminder and last Christmas I got 7 bottles of gin all accompanied by some naice tonic. It was brilliant :)

Other fantastic presents have included a spa day, a massage (that was just because when their child was going through the terrible two's terribly and potty training, fun times) nice chocolate and wine.

The best gift is always a lovely card or note with a nice message about what you feel about your childminder. Sometimes it feels like a thankless job, particularly when the children are going through difficult periods and it is lovely to hear how parents feel about you and it is good to have something in writing to show Ofsted when they come calling. Last year my messages made me cry they were so kind.

I've got my little girl's nursery key worker some salted caramel vodka, hotel chocolat chocolates, burts bees lip balm and hand cream, and some scented pencils from smiggle.

I am a childminder and have wonderful parents so always have lovely Christmas gifts, last years highs were champagne and flowers. To be honest nothing beats a big thank you and a hug 😊

Mine, who was also a friend, always liked rather posher hand cream than she would normally buy. They are forever washing their hands so she got through a lot of hand cream. She was particularly partial to anything in a spaceNK bag.

I'm a childminder. Top things you could buy me, a Yankee candle, a bottle of my favourite spirit (not wine, I don't like it), Lindt chocs, voucher for massages place I go to, cinema vouchers. I would think slippers was a bit weird tbh, but as long as they Were the right size and the style I liked (so the same as I have now) I would wear them.

We've done vouchers for a nice meal out for her and her dh for the last couple of years. Fantastic cms are worth their weight in gold!

Thank you everyone - I've gone with some lovely soap & lip balm from Emma Bridgewater, the shortbread & some lovely Boden slippers DD will present them on her last day before Christmas, hopefully will go down well
