Stocking filler outdoor gift...

We have stockings Christmas morning, then a big brunch, then out for a walk before opening the main tree presents. This year the 3 year old has a bike/trike which we will let her have for the walk, so I wondered if there as anything small I could give her 9 year old sister in her stocking to use on the walk? She's done for bigger presents.

Binoculars? Gloves? Hat?

RatOnnaStick · 23/11/2016 10:17

Was going to say binoculars too. Or a frisbee type thing.

How big is the stocking? A diabolo is a great gift (can't link). Or you could just get one of the tennis balls on a string.

Pocket kite.

If she already has a bike/scooter perhaps a new accessory that would be easy to fit. Bell, spoke light etc.

Compass?
Puppy? [snigger]

PutDownThatLaptop · 23/11/2016 10:33

A single use camera to take pictures on the walk.

PutDownThatLaptop · 23/11/2016 10:36

Actually, scratch that single use camera suggestion. You can get a small digital camera on Amazon for 14.99.

Skipping rope.

New trainers.

Ooh some of these are great thanks! She would love a compass I think, won't hold her attention for long but a cheapy one in her stocking would go down a treat.

Binoculars too! They were on her christmas list a couple of years ago and a relative wanted to get them but got rubbish ones that didn't last a week so I might get some
better ones.

And a new scooter light would be great too, hers went missing ages ago.

She'd probably love a camera, but she's quite careless. That's something to think about...

even a bottle of bubbles would be a nice thing to add - I know at 9 she may turn up her nose, but to run around on Christmas morning, it would be a fun thing with the binoculars/scooter light or whatever.

J3NN1 · 24/11/2016 10:44

What about those skip balls you put round one ankle and skip over with the other foot? Bubbles? You get juggle ones which come with a glove. A kite if you think it will be windy enough? Keepy uppy ball that ties round your waist, light up laces, mini pedometer and set her a goal, frisbee, yoyo, one of those magic leads with 'invisible' dog, super cheap digital camera or clip on lenses to go with one she already has, clip on wheels to make her shoes like heelys...

Bird spotting book
Poi here

Shemozzle · 24/11/2016 19:30

You geniuses! I didn't know you could get clip on wheels, I considered heelies but reluctant to get another bigger present and I'm not keen on them generally. Also didn't know about invisible dog leads, that is right up her street. I think a pedometer would be a great idea too.
