What craft sets are actually worth buying?

Hi there I'm looking for recommendations for craft sets for an 8 year old girl.

I know a lot of them are utter junk!

She has mentioned gel-a-peel and bunch ems but I'm a bit concerned about them getting stuck in her hair!

Are simple sets like hama beads the way to go?

Thanks

Hama beads do get used in our house.
Also Shrinkles
Loom bands still amazingly enough
Camo bracelets are popular too

Sequin art from hobby craft is good. Also, look at some of the more simple sewing kits and embroidery kits. My DD has enjoyed making a couple of easy pieces with only a little help.

Thanks, I'd never heard of shrinkles, they look good.

We've just had a big hobbycraft open nearby so I'll have to go and have a browse. I've heard a few good reviews for sequin art so I'll definitely give those a look

Djeco sets are gorgeous. Have to get them online though.

Hobby craft sun catchers are fab! £1 each. Plastic shape to stain and make your own stained glass effect doo dah to hang:-)

Things by Klutz. Expensive but generally well thought out and good quality.

Dd enjoyed doh vinci. She loves making news bracelets. She has enjoyed Aqua beads at friends houses too.

Another vote for Hobbycraft sun catchers. But be careful with the bigger ones, we found there is not always enough paint to colour in if you're using one dominant colour: our peacock is now half blue and half purple...
Other kits: those 'Creativity for Kids ' by FaberCastell, yellow packaging, always seem good quality and nice results.

8 year old DD loves hers Sew Cool machine, doh Vinci and Hama beads.
She also goes through sellotape, paper and felt tips like nobodies business

Also following. Sorry, can't seem to 'watch' in my talk app.

Soap making has been successful here, and I like the way the products get used up!!
