Unlocked is how they start out - it just means it never was locked, in this context.

& apparently a SIM-free phone can be locked!

I posted this on another Black Friday thread yesterday regarding iPhones, I was nearly caught out buying one from Tesco, I ended up buying from GiffGaff a few months ago

//kenstechtips.com/index.php/apple-iphone-when-sim-free-doesnt-mean-unlocked

Seems the only truly unlocked phones are from GiffGaff, Apple, John Lewis and Three

Miracle how sneaky is that! Shock

Report
MiracletoCome · 26/11/2016 17:18

Yes, very sneaky especially as they are all around the same price, save the odd offer, so you would think you were getting the same thing wherever it was bought. I nearly bought mine from Tesco to use the clubcard points and then I did see something about this. I'm glad I didn't, an iPhone is a lot of money up front if I wanted to be locked in I would buy a contract one

Has anyone seen any decent Lego Dimension Started kits? The best place is Argos but they're out of stock. As is Tesco. And Game are trying to charge >£100 for them

Badders123 · 26/11/2016 21:09

Try Amazon

KeepCalm · 26/11/2016 21:39

Amazon way up as well - I've found reduced ones on the Smyths site but it means going cross country to collect them!

I bought Lego Dimensions for the xbox from Amazon a couple of weeks and paid £28 when it was on offer. I would keep checking Amazon.

Huevos I got a space grey, 64gb from Argos for £379 and an extra £13 off with topcashback. I haven't picked it up yet so am hoping it is indeed unlocked!! I was going to buy from Giffgaff as theirs was the best price and I have a giffgaff sim anyway but an extra £33 off was too good to miss.

This one is for my teenage son so I'm sticking with the £15 a month goody bag that he already has.

Tip for Amazon...
Put it in your wish list
Usually takes a few days but normally stuff comes down in price.

SisterViktorine · 27/11/2016 22:12

Can go the other way Badders. Several things I have on my lists have gone up.

We got caught out by the locked/not really unlocked iphone thing in the US this summer. Couldn't use a US simcard in my phone which had supposedly been unlocked by 02. But DS whose iphone was bought directly from apple, could.

By the way has anyone ever bought a refurbished iphone from Argos? Are they any good, they seem quite a bit cheaper.
