Ideas for a joint present for 1 & 4 year olds

I have two nephews, 1 and 4 and was hoping to get them 1 bigger joint present this year. Or should I go individual? I see them maybe 4 times a year, we aren't close.
Any ideas with a total budget of £40

It's a wide age bracket

All I can think of that's suitable is some toot toot stuff

Play tent & tunnel?

Cash register and toy food.
Easel and craft supplies.
Dollshouse (or fire station/police station version if they would prefer).
Toy farm.
Stomp rocket

At 1yo id say you can just about get away with a joint gift, but next year who will be the one to open it?

Oh the easel is a good shout! Especially if built too and then wrapped as it will need both of them to open it

That is a tricky age gap. Mine are 2 and 3 and like the schleich animals (that could work) and bruder toys.

Train set (they more than likely have this but tesco have wooden buildings to go with then that are lovely) Thomas magnet trains are great (Argos)

Other options - lidl have a wooden tool table that is around that money - its in store on thurday

Balance beam from IKEA or childrens table and chair set

or the ikea wooden sand pit table - I would love this for my DC as I has a table top and inserts for messy play

My first thought was a play tent/tepee, but I'm not sure you can get them for that price... If you can get it for that price, this is gorgeous!

I would split it and do individual presents.

4 year old - Paw Patrol, Thomas the Tank, Hot Wheels/cars, etc

1 year - anything age appropriate from ELC

You'll easily get decent presents for £20 each, or spend a little extra on the older one, and less on the younger. At that age, they won't know the value of money.

My 2 (similar age gap different sexes) have had a big box of Diplomats, wooden railway, play tent (ikea cheap), play kitchen stuff, garage and cars.

All of that you can get for well under 40, and get them something small to open each as well.

Diplomats - diplomats are more for the over 5s

I have the same sort of age gap and the only joint presents I can remember being successful is a sturdy easel that was double sided, and a tent and tunnel. Oh, and one of those dance mat things.

Would imagine they'd have one but garage with cars?

A grandmother I know who's very involved with caring for her toddler grandchildren (I saw a picture of at least 4!) got one Little Tikes car for them all to be kept at her house. A great use of resources, I thought.
Would that be too expensive?

If they share a bedroom or playroom you could buy joint wall stickers or poster then get them an individual present for £10 each? Tbh it's probably less hassle (and wrapping time) to just buy them separate gifts!

I did something similar last year, I got an ikea storage box and filled it with paints, a paint tray (with the little pots for different colours), brushes, paint sponges, IKEA aprons, crayons, coloured paper, play doh, cutters, chalk etc. Then wrapped it in clear selophane with a big bow. They loved it and it is still used almost 12 months on.
