Christmas cake recipe

Please does anyone have a tried and tested Christmas cake recipe that is not the usual heavy fruit cake which never gets eaten here. I was thinking of something with almonds, apricots, cranberries etc. Thank you!

I made this last year instead of Christmas cake for DH's work... it's not fruit cake though.

The icing is really rich, a small slice goes a long way.

I've made the Delia one for years but last year switched to Mary Berry. My whole family said it was the nicest cake I have ever made!

I have made the mary berry one this yr and it smells divine .
