Dcs get a sack from Santa with a mixture of toys, a book, dvd and novelty items. I've got top trumps and some little stretchy men, I thought I would get some American candy from B&M. What else do you include that's a bit of fun or something different?

Foam crowns and sticky glitter gems to decorate them with - they then wear the decorated crowns at Christmas lunch instead of cracker hats - keeps them occupied while we're cooking and it's also fun! :)

You have to have chocolate coins in a Christmas stocking, it is the law.

Lilaclily · 17/11/2016 18:25

Box of mini kelloggs

BellaGoth · 17/11/2016 18:26

Everyone is getting a wind up toy this year, so we can have races! Grin

Wigeon · 17/11/2016 18:26

I always put in one of those magic trees which grows snow on it when you stick it in special crystal water

missyB1 · 17/11/2016 18:27

It's a tradition in our house to put in a pair of festive slipper socks!

Tenpastlate · 17/11/2016 18:28

Lego minifigure blind bag, small cute cuddly toy, 3 pack of ferrero rocher, hairclips, hotwheels car

insan1tyscartching · 17/11/2016 19:30

Whoopee cushion started years ago and she'd be upset if she didn't get one now. Socks featuring something they like so dogs for one dd and mermaids or flamingos for the other. Lip balm, hand warmers, nice gloves, puzzle toys like a cheap Rubiks cube, post its, blu tac, tubs of spearmint, tins of mints all sorts of stuff goes in here tbh.

Love the crown idea!

neversleepagain · 17/11/2016 20:52

Sugar mouse
Satsuma
Small snow globe

Foxsox · 17/11/2016 20:57

Another hooray for the crown idea!!

1happyhippie · 17/11/2016 21:06

Some great ideas here.

We do socks, hair clips (for the girls), novelty erasers, chocolate coins, pack of Knicks/undies,
I always put a little something in that they are into. Dd1 is obsessed with pugs,so I've found a little stationary set. Dd2 is into fairys, so has a little wand and ds loves football, so found some footie tattoos.

We also started the wind up toys last year, great for racing!

geogteach · 17/11/2016 21:09

What do they like? One of mine always has olives, another chocolate spread. Bird seed for the one that's into bird watching. They are delighted with what they get but wouldn't be impressed with each other's if you know what I mean

PuellaEstCornelia · 17/11/2016 21:13

My DS and DD loved those stick-on moustaches!

Boogers · 17/11/2016 21:16

As well as the usual stocking fillers, the DC always have chocolate coins in their stocking along with a new toothbrush. H has a new toothbrush and a jar of pickled onions.

SatsukiKusakabe · 17/11/2016 21:29

Mine are getting one half each of a walkie talkie set each this year.

My dd is getting a bicycle bell in hers, special plasters and lots of hair accessories, and ds is getting a rosette to pin on as he always looks wistful when someone is given one and talks about them a lot! He is also getting a plain white t shirt and some fabric pens to decorate it as that is something else he has talked about, has seen somewhere, and a bookmark.

Match attax and top trumps

Some sort of stationery item.

Dd is obsessed with crisps so I'm going to get a big grab bag to put in there.

A kazoo (always something musical - previous years have been harmonica, jingle bells and er, whoopee cushion)

Always cereal, satsuma, chock coins, big tube of sweets, hot wheel and character socks, novelty flannel or toothbrush.

Matey turns up on Christmas Eve Grin

I love the crown idea too Smile

ShallNotBeNamed · 17/11/2016 21:32

We always had a £1 coin, a bag of chocolate coins & a satsuma, with other bits but they were a tradition!

lapsedorienteerer · 17/11/2016 21:35

As DS is now older (14!) I include some sort of shower gel 'product', sports socks and the like.

Titsalinabumsquash · 17/11/2016 21:37

We always have a different wind up toy each for races,

Bath bomb
Those Fire cracker snap thingumys
A practical joke of some kind
Mini tub of luck charms
Tiny can/bottle of coke
Tattoos
Cake in a mug mixture
Socks

Patriciathestripper1 · 17/11/2016 21:39

And don't forget the tangerine!!! I forgot to put one in one year and the Dc were gutted Santa forgot the tangerine!!

LeavesinAutumn · 17/11/2016 21:44

and ds is getting a rosette to pin on as he always looks wistful when someone is given one and talks about them a lot!

That is so cute Smile

Never found the stocking groove, tbh dd isnt that into it....but usually choc coins, satsuma, tube sweets, and anything small that will fit in it. toy stuffed in the top...I think its because I have them downstairs not upstairs, in their rooms. Perhaps this is why they have never seemed exciting as they get lost in the other gifts

MadisonAvenue · 17/11/2016 21:50

Mine are mid-late teens now but still have a stocking each.

Christmas design socks go down well at any age and I've started looked at personalised photo items like a mug or something to put in them. You can get things like that for all ages and you can get some good offers at this time of year. Now they're old enough I put in a few scratch cards too.

SatsukiKusakabe · 17/11/2016 21:51

When ds was 3 and first aware of Christmas he unwrapped his stocking on his bed, and then was genuinely shocked when we came downstairs and there were more presents!
