Brunette doll for a nearly 4yo?

DD has requested a doll that is quite big with brown hair she can brush and eyes that close, and clothes she can dress it in.

Most dolls seem to be blonde. The Baby Born Sister would be good if it had brown hair, but it doesn't.

The best I've found is this one in the picture but the clothes are really expensive (and so is the doll but I don't mind the one-off expense so much because she isn't getting a lot of other things)

Can anyone recommend any others? I don't have a big Tesco so have never seen one of those new Sindy dolls up close - does anyone know what they're like? They seem to come in various colours

On amazon there is an 18 inch doll from a brand called Our Generation. Have just ordered it for my dd, who also wanted a brunette doll. It was about £30

all of these brands are interchangeable and the clothing and accessories work for them all. The ultimate /brand' for those liking these dolls is American Girl, which my daughter loves. She has an assortment of different dolls and accessories, but American Girl are her favourites, we have brought them on holiday, we did once ship a doll over but worked out very expensive.

My daughter is 10.5 now and has played with them for years, she still plays with them and takes really good care of them. You can find cheaper lothing from china on ebay for them by searching 18" doll clothing, they take a while to come so if for Christmas I would order this week, but often come labelled our generation or American girl so made in the same factory?

The more I look at dolls the more I find them a bit creepy. It's the eyes...

I got one from John Lewis, because I liked the facial expression better than the our generation ones (I actually got one with black hair but there was a brunette one available too). I rejected loads of dolls for having faces that were just slightly unsettling, but I thought the john Lewis one was quite sweet.
There aren't as many outfits available as for the our generation ones, but my daughter has really loved the ones we do have, and they seem good quality.
The eyes don't move, but my daughter doesn't mind.

Before I saw the link you posted I was going to recommend that exact same doll. The Corolle dolls are beautiful.
That particular one is for sale for £31 on Amazon right now (you might have to be a Prime member to get that price?). Often you can buy the clothes more cheaply on Amazon too.
I would definitely spend a bit more to get a Corolle doll if your daughter is going to play with this doll a lot. You can always buy cheaper clothes from other brands with the same size dolls.

The clothes between the brands are all interchangeable so the John Lewis clothes fit the our generation and vice versa.
