I have bought my dd12 a wooden advent calendar but I have no idea what to put in the drawers. It can't be any make up , toiletries or nail varnish.
So far I have hair clips/bobbles , pound coin and er that's it.

What sort of budget did you have in mind?

What hobbies does she do?

Sweets/chocolate spring to mind. Any art/craft odds and ends she might need? (I remember at 12 I was heavily into novelty stationery - notebooks and pens)

Small stationery items
Keyring
Not sure how big boxes are, would socks, underwear, a hat fit in? ( nice inexpensive festive ones in primark)
I've seen other posters suggesting beads and bits and pieces for jewellery making.

Pair of earrings.
Fancy handkerchief.
Written promise to cook her favourite dinner/bake her a cake/do her chores for her/whatever she would like!
A badge.

I bought a mini slinky from Toys R Us (near the checkouts) that might fit, and a 'magic towel' always features in ours. My 12-year old still collects IWAKU erasers, so I've got some of her favourite animals.

Does lip balm count as a toiletry? Christmas tree decoration. Look at crackers for inspiration. What about those little metal puzzles, mini highlighters?

Mini / sample perfumes, pens, necklace, bangles etc

I printed small christmassy labels which I fold up and put in the drawer - this gives them a lucky dip in a bag for bigger items which won't fit into the drawers.
