Little Robin Ref Vest was always a favourite In our house at Christmas time. Not sure if you can still get it though?

I bought this recently, it does have a few religious books in it (which we are not) but it was pretty good value and i figured i can explain about who people believe baby jesus was and at 4 they probably don't really care anyway.

I also second stickman and Lucy and Toms christmas. They are lovely stories. My DTs are a similar age and love them.

Is it wrong that I really don't like Julia Donaldson stuff?!?! Lol

But plenty to go away and look at there thanks! :)

I'd second (third? fourth?) Stick Man. I like Julia Donaldson, but I can see why others might not. However Stick Man is, in my option, one of her best books and worth a punt.

If you don't mind buying used books, 2 of my children's favourites that haven't already been mentioned on this thread are The Usborne Nativity Jizsaw book and this pop up Night Before Christmas book. Both currently available to buy for under £3 each (with delivery) in 'very good' condition.

BTW, mine were 5 and 7 last year, and still made me read them Dear Santa and Spot's Christmas!

Santa comes to... books are pretty good. They're available for lots of towns and areas and they're quite specific in naming local places and relevant pictures. They're not just a cut and paste story.
We read ours every year on Christmas Eve.

eckythumpenallthat · 20/10/2016 15:59

Ooooh neddle we got that last year and forgot to add it to my list. I love it cos it mentions where we live, the park where 'mummy goes running' the area both grandparents live. And it has a big picture of the building I work in. Even at 3 dd recognised places in the pictures. Deffo recommend for anyone else that's after Christmas books

Laura's Christmas Star by Klaus Baumgart. It's a Christmassy variation on Laura's Star. Lovely books!

Also, Aliens Love Panta Claus is in the Aliens Love Underpants series and DS loved those.

redexpat · 21/10/2016 14:34

Have you had a look at the works website? They have collections you can buy.

Has some of the loveliest illustrations for this book I've seen. Still read it yo my DC on Christmas Eve.
