Babies 1st Xmas

Looking for ideas on what to get out our DD for Xmas.
She will be 11months old at Xmas with her 1st birthday following 2 weeks later!
Been round toys r us and smyths but it's so hard to know what she will be into by then!
Any suggestions helpful!

Depends what she's into? Mine loves music and things she can bang for her first birthday (July) we got her an activity table which plays music. For this Christmas (her 2nd, she'll be nearly 18 months) I'm getting her one of those push along trike things and a big toy drum.

Do you take her to any toddler groups? What toys does she make a beeline for? That should give you an idea of what type of thing she likes!

She doesn't really make a beeline for anything. She's not crawling yet or even making attempts!
Most of her toys at the moment are more baby-ish ones I suppose so she def needs some more grown up ones.
At the moment she loves banging things and making them rattle etc so was thinking of musical instruments as one idea. X

You also may want to think that she'll be 2 before another big haul so for Christmas you could get garden toys that she will enjoy over summer - toddler paddling pool, slide, sand table?

Baby doll, cars, happyland, bath toys, duplo.

If she's not doing much moving about on her own have you considered a walker or bouncer? Fun for her and encourages her to stand up etc

For dd first Christmas, we got her my first stroller and doll. Argos and smyths to them. She was 10 and a half months and used it to pull herself up to stand. She's nearly four now and still plays with the doll that came with it!
Also got her bath toys and a shape sorter bus from elc.
She got a gift of a ride along Minnie Mouse car which is also still played with today!
Enjoy, baby's first Christmas is a special time

To be honest, she will probably do the cliche of playing with a cardboard box and wrapping paper

My ds birthday is two weeks after Christmas, and we do as the pp said and buy summer things. Perhaps a ride on toy? Or a play tent. Also look at 18 month plus toys, for when she is older later in the year.

Garden toys for the summer, sandpit, swing, water table, paddling pool, tent etc. you'll prob get lots of toys for her age now so will need things later on in the year.

We've had so much use from it and my DS is still very into it at 18 months.

My baby is 11 months old. Her favourite toys are, an activity cube, a push along walker, stacking cups, the fisher price cookie jar, stacking rings & musical instruments. She also loves books. For Christmas we are getting her a pram and doll, she has a ride on thing for her birthday and some garden things for the spring time.

Can I suggest that you start any traditions now too??
I started to buy baubles for the tree, we all buy 1 new one each every year, but I regret not doing it from their first Christmas, I just didn't think at the time

Yep got my eye out for a bauble, we buy Xmas decs for most special occasions and when we go on holidays. It's great getting them out each year.
I've looked at the activity cubes and thought they looked good. There is just so much choice and she will change so much before Xmas and her birthday. Makes it difficult, but thanks you've given some good suggestions x

My DD's birthday is very close after Christmas too. I would advise getting toys that she will get use out of throughout the year. Even if it's something that's a bit old for her just now but you could put away and she could use in the summer.

Also I started a Christmas Eve box tradition on her first Christmas. PJs for all of us, Christmas story for bedtime, Christmas DVD, bottle of prosecco (for me and DH obviously ) etc.
