Kindle fire/iPod/Xbox/ps4 - Help please

Please help - for DC2 I am debating between an iPod touch and a kindle fire - used mainly for minecraft/ you tube and other games.

For DC1 between an Xbox and a PS4 because he wants FIFA 17.

These are joint presents from us and both sets of GPs so I don't want to get it wrong but am pretty ignorant when it comes to this kind of thing.

If it is at all relevant we already have a wii u and I have an iPhone and iPad which generally get borrowed by both DC.

No way a techie at all but last year we got toddler kindle fire and for her its perfect however older 8 year old got samsung tablet and thats right for her. no way would fire have been good enough to play other stuff on.

For the XBox/PS4 debate, the biggest thing will be what console their friends have got - if the majority are on one type, go with that one, so they can play together online.

I'd go for the ipod over the kindle. We have both and everyone fights to get on the ipod rather than the kindle as it takes ages to turn on, and just slow in general.

ds never really played games on the ipod as he found it too small, he played minecraft on either the pc or ipad only until he was old enough for a Xbox 360. I you could stretch to it could you get him an ipad instead (what age is dc2?)

We got an xbox because most of his friends had them and it meant he could play with them and chat online, I would find out what his friends have/were getting.
