finger puppets

BrilliantlyStupid · 28/09/2016 10:05

For tweens and teens, the game Pandemic is now 18.99 on Amazon, one of the lowest prices I have seen.

EmGee · 28/09/2016 10:07

Thankyou Admiral; I've just ordered one from Asda which is probably made in China anyway but hey ho!

yaffle · 28/09/2016 10:15

Apologies it was me who assumed that the free Molton Brown 100 ml must be a bauble as that was what the picture in the magazine showed . I'm not quite sure why I'm being all entitled bratty about them not doing the same offer again, but damn it I wanted some cheap expensive looking- gifts and some sneaky ylang ylang gel for me .

yaffle · 28/09/2016 10:17

I'm also sulking (I promise I'm not really this petulant in real life ) that the Playmobil calendars haven't gone down to £9.99 like they have in previous years .

RJnomore1 · 28/09/2016 10:21

Yaffle it seems a reasonable assumption until you read the fine print!

CurriedEggs · 28/09/2016 10:21

If anyone sees this Bean Boozled Game for less than £7.99 could you let me know please? I need 7 of them!

stealthsquiggle · 28/09/2016 10:24

DS would probably love Pandemic, but would struggle to get anyone to play it with him [dither]

AmyMumsnet · 28/09/2016 10:24

Hi all,

Sorry for the silence, it's been a bit manic here at HQ. Very jealous that some of you are already finished with your Christmas shopping, I've barely begun (although planning on getting my DM tickets to sing-along carols in London which is making me feel festive just thinking about it). Sorry to hear some of you are unwell, hope you feel better soon!

Also, someone asked about beating our offers - that's absolutely fine. We're here to help, not be the Queens of Christmas bargains (reastie takes that crown hands down anyway!).

Here's a bumper list of offers, starting of course with chocolate:

Thorntons have 20% off when you spend £25 with code CELEBRATE

Whittard have 3 for 2 on all Hot Chocolate with code 3FOR2 (I might have to get some of this for the office, never mind Christmas!).

The Works are still doing some really good bundle offers like <a class="break-all" href="http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=185523&wgprogramid=5922&wgtarget=www.theworks.co.uk/c/multibuys/4-for-10/art-materials" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">4 for £10 on art supplies and <a class="break-all" href="http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=185523&wgprogramid=5922&wgtarget=www.theworks.co.uk/c/multibuys/2-for-5/2-for-5-calendars" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">2 for £5 on calendars (is it just me that still gets a calendar every year from my DM?). They also have <a class="break-all" href="http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=185523&wgprogramid=5922&wgtarget=www.theworks.co.uk/c/multibuys/8-for-10" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">10 children's books for £10 including some really nice Christmas books which would be perfect for Christmas eve boxes.

<a class="break-all" href="http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=185523&wgprogramid=11985&wgtarget=www.elc.co.uk/free-toys.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> ELC are doing a lot of gift with purchase offers including on their easel and till, although unfortunately still not a big discount which is what we're all holding out for.

<a class="break-all" href="http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p(68951)a(896869)g(17268866)url(www.thebodyshop.com/en-gb/)" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Body Shop have £25 off orders over £50 with code 14664.

Boots have 15% off orders over £60 with code BEAUTY15

<a class="break-all" href="http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=185523&wgprogramid=10671&clickref=christmasthread_discount&wgtarget=www.hive.co.uk" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Hive have a lot of books and DVDs and are currently running a code AUT16 for 10% off when you spend £15

Square Snaps print out photos in a square format, a bit like instagram or polaroids, and they're currently offering us an exclusive 20% off all orders with code MUMSNET20. Might make a nice stocking filler for the DCs

The Boden sale is still going on, with a lot of reductions on their children's clothes.

Woolovers have up to 50% off their pure wool and lambswool knitwear for today only. They also have an extra 15% off their cashmere and merino in their outlet

Zalando have 20% off orders over £50 for new customers with code NEWGET2NN. They do lots of brands so perfect if your DCs are after some new trainers or a new bag.

BrilliantlyStupid · 28/09/2016 10:29

Amazon have the Zip It Game for 8.99 (if you enjoyed Bananagrams!)

AlbusPercival · 28/09/2016 10:29

Brilliantly, not sure Pandemic would be good for tweens? Would say teens and adults personally.

BrilliantlyStupid · 28/09/2016 10:31

Stealths, could you play it as a family? Mine are obsessed with games and I have learnt to enjoy them provided I have a big glass of wine on hand!

Mipe · 28/09/2016 10:31

Oreocrumbs do you have a link for the bracelet you got please? Smile

BrilliantlyStupid · 28/09/2016 10:35

Albus, have you played it? How complicated is it? It does say 10+ and my 11 yr old is desperate for it ... he is really into games though and we will play as a family .... (wibbles about buying it now!)

Mummyshortlegz · 28/09/2016 10:42

We have it and I'm sure they would manage it just fine.

wornoutboots · 28/09/2016 10:43

might have [osted these before
mario and luigi hats

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00A7WAMPE

£3.89 & FREE UK delivery for both.

they are big (fit my large head) but my kids don't care that they're too big, they wear them and play anyway.

crazygirluk · 28/09/2016 10:52

Skylanders Imaginators is available for preorder on Studio for £46.99 which is the cheapest I've seen it (£48.99 to £54.99 depending on the platform on Amazon atm). If you're a new customer you should be able to get it cheaper with a code.

Does anyone know where to get really cheap blind bags or surprise eggs with toys inside? The theme doesn't really matter but I need them to be around £1 or less if possible.

TheBathroomSink · 28/09/2016 10:52

Sainsburys have got black or red Thermos travel mugs in a couple of different styles reduced, they are now £4-£6ish, there were a load in my mid-size Sainsburys earlier.

There are also purple ones on the shelves but those are not reduced, which is a shame because they were pretty (but also a good thing because I really don't need another travel mug!)

BrilliantlyStupid · 28/09/2016 11:02

Thanks Mummyshortlegz!

stealthsquiggle · 28/09/2016 11:08

Brilliantly - the trouble is my DB was so big into these huge strategy games that I grew up loathing them. Enough wine to make it tolerable would probably render me incapable of playing at all Blush

Greenrabbit · 28/09/2016 11:11

Home bargains had these amigami double packs in today. They had 3 different designs, they were £1.99

Mummyshortlegz · 28/09/2016 11:22

www.hobbycraft.co.uk/wall-hanging-felt-christmas-tree-90cm/609008-1000 If you have little ones then this is apparently a good thing. If you have a hobby craft card you get 20% off in store tomorrow on full price stuff. Worth a look if you have crafty people to buy for.

monkeyfacegrace · 28/09/2016 11:37

Bean boozed was in my local Tesco recently for £6 iirc. Not in the usual sweet aisle, in a random foreign section.

Did anyone order the usb chargeable light up shoes? There's a pair on Wowcher/groupon for £18 and I wanted to know what they were like? My 9 year old would love them, but I buy her Nike trainers for a similar price so don't want to splash out if they are shite.

AlbusPercival · 28/09/2016 11:38

Brilliantly - yes, I have 3 different versions of it. We are a board game household, but first child not expected for 4 weeks, so not an expert on that front.

The nice thing is it is cooperative, so you can talk through the strategy with him. If he is also an accustomed game player it is fine.

I think where it wouldn't work is if you just gave the box to 4 11-year-olds who had never seen it before and had only played monopoly or similar as it is such a different setup. As a family board game it would be great.

Does that make sense? Sorry if I've caused any angst!

Tiggles · 28/09/2016 11:39

Angry ordered mermaid and shark tails from a UK seller as wanted 5 for nieces and nephews so a bit of an expensive gamble from China. Not marked as dispatched on ebay. Emailed to ask when posting, apparently 'already delivered so try asking your neighbours'.
