What are you getting your 9 year olds?

I'm really struggling with DSD. She's quite a young 9 and is into baby dolls and crafty bits. I'm refusing to buy craft sets this year as she chucks the bits around her room and it all gets lost or broken.

She likes shopkins and reading and has asked for another Design-A-Friend doll. Apart from that I'm a bit stumped!

My son is 9 and has asked for a beanbag! Have you seen the giant unicorn on the bargain thread? giant unicorn

I wish we had room for another giant teddy and DP banned me from buying one.

My DD wants one of those life like reborn dolls!! She has been begging for one since last Christmas. I have looked online but some of them are just so weird looking, and expensive!

Some of them look alright, but can only buy online and I think that something hideous will arrive through the post, not the one I picked! Lol

Does your DD like Lego friends? My DD likes it. They have new fairground sets out. The Top Model design books are good too.
Its hard though, I don't know what to get my DD this year. She is 10.

I honestly have no idea whatsoever as to what I should get DS. He has ASD and is obsessed with computers but to be honest he got a Wii U last xmas and never uses it as he plays on his PC most of the time. It all seems like a waste of money but I can't get him nothing and I'm not getting him anything PC based as I don't want to encourage him to use it more!

DS (7) has adhd and some ASD traits. He's also screen obsessed. We're getting him a coding set as he wants to be a games designer when he's older and an animation set. He will play with small figures but that's about it with non screen activities. It's bloody frustrating though. He loved Lego but hasn't touched it since Easter.

DSD might like Lego friends. What's putting me off is that she does not give a shit about her things. She doesn't tidy anything away and I'm worried I'm going to throw money at things that just get trashed. She can't even put laundry in a washing basket!

Just had dd1 9th birthday - one of the things she liked best was a set of paints and canvasses from wilkinsons!
Also guiness book of records and both her and her sister love the design a friend dolls from Argos. ( she just turned 8)
For Xmas they both want a sewing machine and a printer

I have found some My Generation dolls - Smiths toy shops do them, as do Fenwicks (and Hamleys - if you've got the money!). They are dolls for slightly older girls and the accessories are beautifully made and, from Smiths at least, don't cost a fortune. However they are bigger than standard dolls and the horses are huge! :)

My DD loves Shopkins, Monster High and Forever After High. She also loves Pugs so has some stationary and clothing featuring these.

My son will be 9 in Feb and he has been asking for modelling clay. He got a cheap set from pound land with his pocket money and now has been asking for more, so we are getting him a bigger set with tools etc. Think I might get some air dry clay too.
Also getting funniest videos on YouTube book, Pokemon figures, magazine subscription, illustrated Harry Potter book.

My dd is 9, she isn't into fashion or anything like that but not interested in toys. She asked for a Lottie doll for her birthday and isn't touched it but your DSD may like one? We've just moved house and she soda I maybe sell out all her Lego and playmobil in the loft, but if yours still likes tithe legs Elves range is great.

Mine has asked for a lava lamp! She asked for a magic 8 ball for her birthday, she loves Manga a lot so box sets of books. New wimpy kid book coming out and I'll find some other book sets, I think I'm going to get her a sewing machine, she loves seeing and crafty stuff but like yours no interest in completing kits. She prefers freestyle 😂. If she doesn't use the sewing machine I thought I could. She still likes beanie boos, Harry Potter things, she's asked for emoji cushion, and I've got her a few Minecraft and Pokemon mini figures. She asked for one of those glow science kits too.

1122christy would he like a stop motion animation set to go with the clay? It works best with modelling clay figures, it was on offer on their website but I don't have the link! I've been tempted for DD.
